While that’s true, you can have a downpour without a storm…but you can’t have a storm without lightning and wind.
As a off-Resto Shaman me and my 7 healing totems, doesn’t feel like it.
Blizzard has very consistently used “storm” theming almost exclusively for offensive features basically forever. The idea that Stormbringer would have any chance of being a Resto path was never more than wishful thinking.
You need to read better, bro.
Restoration is a healer that uses the element of WATER to heal their allies. Most of their abilities have something to do with water, not lightning (which was hilarious to read about how Riptide was about storms).
In the other side, Enhancement CLEARLY uses elements to do damage, which a storm with lightning would do.
Psh you need to learn to read. “Storm” isn’t equivalent to “lightning” and “damage”, that’s an assumption that my post is challenging. Guaranteed most of the storms you have experienced in your life did little damage to anything, and were more characterized by rain than lightning. If you’re not used to storms, they may have even felt invigorating to go out and experience. They give me life.
You’re acting like Pikachu was a “storm” pokemon. Pikachu just zaps stuff, that’s not a storm.
Anyway, my point still stands. They just made totemic be the storm bringer. They make it rain in a bigger area for more than double the duration than non-totemic shaman. They are healing by creating weather all around them. If they were to make an animated depiction of a totemic shaman healing a raid that includes a stormbringer enhance shaman fighting, you’d see one of them creating a storm and one of them being a pikachu.
It’s a missed opportunity that they’re not leaning into re-imagining shaman’s healing spec from the flavorless (and shared with druid) “restoration”. They could literally rename the whole spec “Tide”. Tide Shaman. Now that actually evokes some flavor.
But nah. Let’s keep their identity amorphous.
