No one is treating you badly. It’s a freaking video game company. Learn how things work before you go all Karen over some stupid pixels. Geebus.
It’s not. There’s nothing “shady,” there’s no “punishment.” There are several ways to get this mount. Y’all just refuse to learn how the industry’s revenue works and would rather come here and act like you’re brigading “for the customer,” when all you’re doing is showing your absolute ignorance.
I’m more than old enough to grasp on how things work. More accurately, I’m old and wise enough to see business changes that aren’t in customers’ favor, in spite of the money paid out by said customers.
It’s not ignorance to know how companies managed to allocate fees in ways that benefited customers and how they do things now. No, better business practices didn’t need to go out the window because “times have changed.” You enjoy your hill, as well.
Yeah. When there was even more down time with no refunding. Look, I am sure someone that wants to nitpick the fine print as much as you has no issue with someone else wanting accurate conversation.
So its shady for saying exactly what would happen, and not saying otherwise?
WhenVanilla WoW was all that existed, GM’s weren’t hamstrung like they are now and often refunded game time lost to game-related issues; so, I’m not sure what you mean regarding there having been “more down time with no refunding.”
Also, I’m not nitpicking fine print by pointing out what Blizz really is offering people: a “free” mount for a minimum of 12-months’ sub time. We can disagree on whether or not we find a 12-month sub worthwhile.
I blatantly agreed with your previous statement; yet, you argue against my agreement with you.
When WoW released, I was married, working and paying on mortgage–a mortgage that retains a balance (alas). I assure you that Blizz–and many other companies (gaming or otherwise)–did MUCH better by customers than they do now. I and many others know from direct experience. (It’s a shame that you won’t see this reply, though, due to having muted me. Ah, well.)
So out of curiosity I went through the in-game shop to the special offer and I saw nothing about it needing to be recurring in the text. The average consumer is going to read the title " Get the Wondrous Wavewhisker mount with the Purchase of a 6-Month Subscription" and assume that’s all that is needed. I think it’s perfectly reasonable for a consumer to be confused by this and I’m really confused at the behavior towards the OP.
I could just about give you a hug for your courteous reply–especially since I’ve come to expect the behavior that I’ve experienced in this thread. (I’ve seen similar punching-at-shadows-type replies to others’ posts.) Eventually, some people resort to name calling, arguing just to argue, etc. It’s mind-boggling.
I feel like the people complaining about this are the same ones that get a CC in the mail and see 0% interest and run with it then complain 6 months later when they are hit with 25% interest
This is what some of us did with the 12 month sub, and we got screwed out of the mount over it.
And some people, who shall not be named, seem to think that’s acceptable, even though we bought the same exact package as other people who did get the mount, all because we had the common sense to cancel our recurring subscription early so we didn’t get bombarded with a mystery charge a year later for $150 out of nowhere because we forgot about it.
Like how wow had collectors editions and ultra rare trading cards that sold for thousands? But now wow is just handing those things out, instead of gambling booster packs and it’s ‘shady’ practice.
Holy smokes! I didn’t know this! I literally have a whole year left on my account and I didn’t get the mount. I was so confused. It’s because I don’t have on auto renewal. Omg! That’s horrible lol.
For their Monthly Active Users metric, Blizzard counts users with active game time.
They don’t report subscribers to their investors anymore. They only report MAUs. So the fact they tied a Subscription stipulation to this is beyond ridiculous, especially when the last 6 month rewards didn’t have that stipulation - the only stipulation is you had a 6 month sub on your account (as in, that was the last source of game time added), and you had at least 6 months of game time left. Period.
yea you are. you both did not meet the exact stipulations that blizzard had stated on the very description about how to obtain the mount.
but that is exactly the point. you can get the mount 3 ways:
by purchasing a 6 or 12 month sub
already having an “active” recurring 6 or 12 month sub
buy it directly from the store
there is absolutely nothing shady about that whatsoever. if blizzard did not state this in the ad description then i think i can be a little more compassionate for your concern. but you are beating a dead horse. you are igniting the forums over an item you do not qualify for. i dont care if you have a 6 month or a 12 month or a 20 year sub. you canceled it. i cant go to a black friday sale on a tuesday and expect to get the same prices as everyone else that went on a friday.
you have 2 choices. get another 6 month sub or just buy it off the store. you are embarrassing yourself at this point.
