are we forgetting that night elves are more powerful beings than most playable humanoids in this game?
they’re blessed by a goddess, cmon now people, stop comparing a mechanical gnome to night elves. ofc there’s going to be a best and worst racial
also, nothing in the game should be balanced around PvP. Like ever. And in PvE, it’s entirely situational, and only exceeds in specific scenarios. it’s not something you use on Cooldown - therefore i think it’s pretty well balanced.
There’s always been racials that synergize better with specific classes - pretty sure that was intentional too.
Stoneform isn’t used on cooldown either, it’s used to remove monster abilities that are dangerous, which makes it the most powerful racial in the game.
Whether something is “used on cooldown” or not is irrelevant.
I pretty much only play Nelf because i feel like if i can meld an opponents maJor ability then i almost auto win. It puts me THAT far ahead. It’s hard for me to play chars that dont have it because i constantly see ways it would have saved me. Best racial by miles imo.
This is just a flat-out lie, it was put into the game in Warlords of Draenor specifically because everybody PvPing was Alliance and Alliance players complained about massive queue times.
The number of lies that get told on this forum is getting ridiculous.
Alliance has racials that tend to benefit PVP. Horde has racial that benefit PVE. There is a reason why almost all of the guilds competing for world first raid boss kills are horde. It’s been like this for 20 years. Play a race because you like the look and the lore it’s much more fun that way.
It has absolutely not been like this for 20 years, the only boss for which horde was betterin vanilla was an optional boss in Ahn Qiraj that people cheesed with shaman
Okay, 16 years? I started playing in Wrath so I’ll go back to that. Last time I checked humans still had the free break out of stuff racial and night elves still had shadowmeld back then which helps in pvp while orcs and trolls had dps cool downs that were better for maxing dps in a raid. Pretty sure I’m not wrong about that. Or do I live in some sort of fictional universe where that wasn’t true 16 years ago.
Hate to break it to you, but those “Horde guilds” are playing 80% Alliance races in RWF, these days.
Alliance racials are THAT overpowered, including in PvE.
Alliance racials have always been better. The only reason people didn’t play Alliance was that having Alliance racials meant playing with Alliance players. But now you can do both.
Actually it was the next expansion, BfA, where Horde finally overtook Alliance in overall population, hitting 52%. According to realmpop, which had the most accurate numbers ever, in the game’s history.
Okay fair. I haven’t given much attention to RWF in a while. I used to play really hard core now I’m casual. Turning 40 does that to people I guess. I stand by the history of those racials though. It seemed like for the longest time the RWF guilds were Horde.
