Vanish is not a rogues most powerful defensive ability? There are so many dots in the game that makes it so you cant disengage with vanish.
Imp sprint is our most powerful defensive.
I think you might be illiterate. 
Just because it’s counter-able, doesn’t mean it’s not the most powerful. (Psst: imp Sprint is also counter-able to by using a slow after they activate it.)
And quit trying to deflect- You’re trying to give a class’s most powerful defensive (or second most powerful in your opinion) as a racial…

Back in the day…cue the boomer music…you could get a full aim shot off before they could even seen you. It was OP as hell and changed.
Shadowmeld is a RP ability. What “good” pvper is wanting or thinking sitting on a road invised to just wait for someone to eventually run by? You have a hunter in meld in the FR to aimshot? Cool the mage displaced away to the ramp before you cast it or halfway down tunnel. A druid fc? He is out of LoS before your aim shot finishes. You arent ambushing prey thats not expecting it when entering in to the Enemy Flag Room.
undead have the best racials for both rogue and priest in the game by a complete landslide. the only class that rivals them is dwarf though.
tauren are arguably the best race for warrior in pvp. they have extra reach/melee range built into them in classic which has been kept in pvp and the stun is very useful. soni nearly won the classic dueling tournament with a tauren warrior. he would’ve won if snutz faced ziqo before facing him.
troll is just a heavy pve race. they have arguably the best pve racials for a lot of their classes. you don’t play troll to pvp.
and nightelf shadow meld is very very very strong in classic pvp. for hunters it is arguably the best pvp racial in the game by such a strong landslide that in cata hunters get a classwide ability camoflauge to give them what nightelves have in classic. i know because i play one and have played an orc hunter. it is also very strong for shadow priest in pvp as i can just fear a player run away and drink/eat up for free. if you get out of combat you can essentially drink for free and completely immune to all ranged attacks except for being flared. it would also be the best mage racial if mages could use it. its just bad for melee classes and classes that already have stealth.
Or get aoe’ed, grenaded out, someone running in range of you… besides that sure its immune teehee. Not to mention they can distract you to stop the drink.
There are 2 races that are essentially never used by any gladiator or competent pvper which is NE and Troll. Troll might change though if haste affects dots. I dont play casters to know if it affects dots

that would be a trash idea.
that is because night elf racial in retail is insanely busted buddy. if anything it needs a nerf in retail. it functions as a vanish and kick in combination with being a stationary stealth. you can just full cleanse and drink for free unless anyone gets into melee range of you. its entirely busted in retail and we do not need that in sod classic. if i had that i would be another level of absolutely absurdly broken and fighting a good night elf shadow priest with luffa and poison cleanse consumes would feel like fighting a raid boss.
i picked a night elf priest in retail for the only reason of shadowmeld is soooo godly good.
Oh are you in combat and your party member died and the druid already used combat rez? no problem, shadowmeld into rez - boom win
Comparing retail and SoD are worlds apart brother. Meld in combat would be great, but not broken.
They added freedom totem that also causes a rogue to lost all their combo points, totems that you can fling towards a player and no longer spawns under you. With what they gave and are giving shamans I dont think this is even comparable to the love horde has received.

id argue undead is better. especially in classic era which enables undead rogues to run luffa and shadow fire or ice reflector making them essentially immune to almost all cc outside of stun also with a make shift stoneform and preemptive cloak of shadows. tauren is better on warrior for melee range health and the stun. essentially the only reason to play orc is for warlock hunter or shaman. even then with decoy totem out now and you being able to pre decoy kidney tauren is probably better than orc for shaman. defintely the best horde race for mm hunter though because the only strong mm hunter counter right now is rogues. though other than warlock and hunter its pretty overated.
I would prefer a 25% chance to just for free completely break a rogues opener, a pallys Hoj, a deepfreeze or whatever other big CC
