I wish the Wound mechanics would dissolve away and old disease spec brought back.
Or at least let our only disease scale with haste and make wounds feel better to explode.

Have to disagree with 1 thing old runes back, I’m good I like having all death runes

If the old runes returned death runes should be a 15% increase on a ability that consumes them

I kinda wish we would get a way of making control undead permanent, since I am having so much fun with some fo the more unique undead you find in netherstorm in bc near Kirin’var village. Even if we had it that the talent ‘all will serve’ gave you a second undead pet, or making your control undead permanent.

It is hard for me to look at the old rune system as it did have some depth in figuring out how to have the runes you needed, not just number but type as well, so you could use a specific ability. An with death runes needing to come back in way, they would need to figure how to make it feel good over limiting, personally give me back presences with them augmenting how some of our abilities work while in one that is not our spec presence (like being unholy an being in frost or blood.).

Personally like the idea of wound popping scaling up plague dmg but i only play uh as an alt.

As much as I love my dk, the wound system does feel bland and unrewarding, you get up to 4 to 6 pop Apocalypse, wait a second for the ghouls to attack. Then you pop Abom, DT, UF/Trinket, then just spam SS/CS/NS for 10 seconds or so. I think this might be okay if we had some sort of big execute like ability or a harder hitting runic power dump.

I am not a fan of the wound mechanic at all. Would rather have it removed. New diseases added and have apocalypse scale from how many diseases are on the target and ss damage scale similar

I was discussing this on another thread, but I really liked the idea of taking what Festermight does now and allowing it to influence our diseases tick rate. “X wounds burst increase tick rate by Y for Virulent Plague for Z set time”. Something like this would allow them to work withing the Wound system but still feed into what old Unholy did which was allow for passive damage to feel more active than it is.
The only other thing I wish would change about Unholy would some sort of change to Death Coil. I get that it’s a legacy spell but man does it just feel limp to press. You feel less like you’re harnessing the runes on your blade to send out this powerful blast of Unholy magic and more of farting out a spooky skull. Compare the feeling to Howling Blast and it’s just night and day.

I like the idea of something like an ability, maybe a runic power dump that consumes our wounds to buff the tick rate of the disease we have. Having a talent choice that allows you to use more diseases kinda like old unholy, could be interesting as a change.

I like death coil as it is a ranged ability for us, but I think it would be nice to have another rp spender alongside it. Something maybe like a rp spender built with the idea of us dwing could be interesting if they gave us dw. I do think that it would be nice if we had a method of maybe making it over reducing the cd on dark transformation, that it gained a buff to it’s damage based on the diseases or wounds on a target.

Also, totally agree with DC. Having it for lichborne in sl will be fun. Especially in pvp. But pve wise it hits less than a wet noodle.
Buffing the damage could work.
Though I’d love to see something else done with it. If they did end up making diseases more of uh again, I’d think it be cool to have death coil give a debuff on the enemy. “Rot” can either be another dot that stacks with multiple death coils or something.

I honestly feel the damage and everything is else around it is fine for the most part, just a lot is left to be desired in appearance for me. It’s barely noticeable in close range, it barely feels like there’s much impact, etc. I mean even something like epidemic feels so much better, just because you get to see all those exploding VP pops and stuff. Like I said, compared to Howling Blast, the feeling of smacking someone with a beefy hit of dark frost magic and then Death Coil just has a Quan Chi skull fart out your weapon.

You don’t like Festering Wounds probably because it’s literally the old combo point system. The same system that was changed for quality of life to be tied to the player and not each specific target.

Still annoys me that the only way to spread/apply Festering Woulds in AOE is tied to RNG. Just give Unholy it’s diseases back. :roll_eyes:

  • NEW Call Horsemen Your Death Gate calls forth a Horseman of the Ebon Blade to assist you in battle, but has a 10 minute cooldown.

  • NEW Death Gate Calls forth a Horseman of the Ebon Blade to assist you in battle.

  • NEW Force Pull Death Grip causes the target to slam to the ground, knocking down nearby enemies for 3 seconds.

  • NEW Skull Bloomer Grows your Death Coil, causing it to deal 40% additional damage and healing.

  • NEW Superstrain Your Frost Fever, Blood Plague, and Virulent Plague also apply the other two diseases.

  • NEW Tome of Swordplay Mind Freeze’s cooldown is reduced by 4 seconds when you successfully interrupt a cast.

Force pull sounds like fun

using Death gate will have some use in the tower

skull bloomer will be nice when it stacks

so we may finally get 3 diseases as non unholy
