Shadowlands Trailer least liked WoW trailer ever. Why?

I can’t speak for anyone else, but it became meaningless and boring to me because as soon as I heard Sylvanas’ voice, I knew exactly what was going to happen. I always know what’s going to happen when Sylvanas is involved because she’s a boring and predictable character. The trailer wasn’t bad, in my opinion, just boring; it did nothing at all to interest me in the new xpac any more than I already am.

Cause the mighty Lich King got rekt by a death-empowered feminist

No he is the strongest enitity of death that we have been aware of. That does not mean that there is not a being out there that suprassess him by leaps and beyonds. Think the trailer and the power Sly is showing makes it clear that there is someone out there that makes lich boy look like fodder in comparison.

Translation what your seeing is longtime fans of Warcraft sad at where the story has been taken with all their favourite characters destroyed because Christine Golden is a hack writer whos new lore is terrible. World of Retcons.

THIS. A clash between Lich King and anyone should’ve been vast. Not ice chains, push him down, take his hat and break it. Also not sure how breaking a mind-control helm opens a door to another dimension, but eh. Maybe we’ll get to reassemble it and wear it ourselves someday, like thunderfury. That might be neat. (Trailor still lackluster. ‘ripping his helm like a phonebook and breaking the sky’ was a great description of the end, but the fight up to that was as fun as watching someone hit a training dummy) I’ll watch it again to see if I’m missing details. My eyes aren’t that good irl. And downvotes on youtube could be anything from lackluster video to people not liking how the lich king side of the fight and story went.

ah yes, the cutting edge tactic of referring to anyone with a different opinion as something evil. “look out everyone, its a bomb!”

you may have thought you found a way to rise above it all, to invalidate the views of others in a single sweeping blow, but that is just ad-hominem mudslinging you are doing.

we all know why garrosh storyline was dragged out for so long, the devs were completely blind to their own horde favoritism, blind to how sick everyone in general had become of the storyline involving thrall and those closest to him, how sick everyone had become of orcs, resulting in an orc-centered time travel expansion that nearly ruined the company, and certainly caused permanent damage to the warcraft franchise.

they made almost every wrong decision then, and they’re in the midst of doing it all over again.

Not to mention almost every trailer since the last 4 or 5 have been focused on Horde.

Here’s a cool video with a better like/dislike ratio.

Maybe meant to stir the memory of old expansions people will get to choose to skip to and level through under the new levelling system. Now what would be really cool, is if they restored the expansion-specific features and questlines. Like powering up artifact weapons in legion (Just the AP, not the AK though :)), or getting legendary ring in wod, etc.

I think it’s obviously from the Legion dev team.

Legion has been my favorite expansion overall so far, (triggering Wrath fans undoubtedly), so even though Sylvanas is sadly still alive, and I thought the leaked pretexts for Shadowlands were ridiculous, (and mercifully have been proven wrong), everything from the What’s Next panel looks amazing.

I’ve not had the chance to watch the Deep Dive panel yet…

It’s made worse by the “powers” she’s supposedly been secretly working with for years not actually having existed until Blizzard invented them for the upcoming expansion.

The Arbiter, Jailer, Maw, Torghast, and floating theme park islands weren’t even part of the Shadowlands lore until the expansion announcement, and the Shadowlands themselves as recently as BFA were completely different to what Blizzard are turning them into.

So if the A Squad / B Squad thing is true, as some people say, and this expansion is the “A Squad”, then the BfA Squad is working on 10.0?

That makes no sense.

Actually, this had been rumored to ages ago, that we would get something with an Outland feel in that kind of way.

To me it’s the other way around, that the only thing I found underwhelming about Shadowlands was that I was not that surprised, that I’m getting the expansion I expected lol

That concept turned up in some player-based “leaks” and rumours, but it was never part of the official Shadowlands lore until just now.

Even through BFA, the Shadowlands were just a dark, shadowy mirror of Azeroth itself, reflecting an aspect of the world in the same way the Emerald Dream was depicted as a green, untouched version of the planet.

Wouldn’t that make the Shadowlands a dark, twisted version of the planet?

Well, yeah, that’s pretty much what the place originally was, a shadowy “behind the veil” version of the world full of spirits and monsters, hence it literally being called the Shadowlands.

However, for the sake of varied gameplay, it has been changed into a completely different standalone world made up of video-game-style themed islands instead.

It’s in the same vein as Blizzard originally saying they couldn’t make an entire Emerald Dream expansion because it would just have been a pristine green version of Azeroth, or the way they changed the icebound Northrend in WotLK to include a number of non-snow zones, also just for the sake of gameplay variety.

It might have to do with the announcements of a level squish, which is needed, and the Dark Lady handling Bolvar like she did. We know she has a new power and that she made a deal with Azshara. Both of those aspects probably play out in the next expansion which is why she was the focus of the trailer. People aren’t thinking long term. They’re thinking short term like they always do. Hell. For all I know it could be people being upset that Pathfinder will yet again be a thing. I think people would be way more open to the idea if it wasn’t for the time gating bull.

Well maybe there is the Shadowlands we see when our characters die, and then there is the Shadowlands that’s the actual world we are going to.

I mean there’s been an Emerald Dream that we saw, but then there is THE Emerald Dream we saw in Legion which actually felt like like an entirely different world to me. See, I had no idea that on the spider boss in Emerald Nightmare, that I was actually in a corrupt nightmare version of Thunderbluff.

I’m pretty sure Xinnie the Pooh would allow abuse of women. He’s the only person Blizzard is concerned with pleasing these days.
