Shadowlands scaling is broken when using Chromie time and doing Threads of Fate

I decided to revisit the Shadowlands when leveling an alt because I think the leveling there was pretty decent. I decided to do the threads of fate path because I wanted to go ahead and just get my covenant ability.

However now, the entire questing experience is broken. Every zone is now scaled from 50-60, while I am level 14. Threads of fate cannot be undone, so I am essentially locked out of Shadowlands leveling until I hit level 50.

I chose Shadowlands because it’s what I haven’t played in the longest between classic, remix and other alts I’ve recently leveled. I really don’t want to level through Dragonflight yet again.

Thank you for posting this. I tried leveling there on an Ally alt and was confused. Switched to a Horde alt and same thing. And now we’re stuck because we can’t undo threads of fate, which appears to be the issue.

I am having the same issue on a new alt. Really annoying, I was hoping to do the traveler’s log entry for Shadowlands quests this week.

Yeah, I can safely say That as of March 16, 2026 this bug still exists I was hoping to let my new paladin they’re only to be given a big FU by the fact that everything is 50 to 60 making it unplayable in Chromie time.

This is the company that when they introduced a patch that brought Chromie time from 70-71 none of the quest exp scaled with it, it arrived on patch day broken and they never fixed it until the next expansion launched.

Confirmed. Unable to level in Shadowlands. Spoke to Chromie, chose SL - mobs are ?? and foods are only available for lvl 55+. Bummer, I was hoping to change things up.
