I don’t even play the Horde very much (if at all at times) but both Etrigg and Nazgrel come to mind. Aggra is somewhere. Rehgar Earthfury is still out there. They recently added a lady named Eye-Gouge (Uma is the first name? Usha?).
I do however agree the Horde roster needs restocking. Or at least focus on some forgotten characters. They have a number of characters that simply don’t get fleshed out or spotlight time.
As an aside given the way the Mag’har was actually done as AU Dreanor refugees, where does that put Jorin Deadeye? Mag’har or Orc?
Now, be honest: Do these come to mind because they get discussed multiple times a week? Because the only one you’ve mentioned who has actually shown up in the game is Eitrigg.
Rehgar has been tied to Varian’s gladiator days and was one of the Order Hall Champions for Shaman in Legion.
Aggra (while I have never given the character much attention) I do remember Thrall and AU Durotan discussing where she was in the garrison (or was it in the frost wolf camp?) and mentioning how Draka was at Durotan’s side during war.
The differing of the two philosophies did strike my attention (while acknowledging Draka is childless at that time while Aggra is not) and I have watched to see if Aggra ever shows up in any of Thrall’s appearances since then. Doesn’t look like AU Durotan made a lasting impression with that debate so far.
Nazgrel is too close to Nazgrim in spelling and I have made a point to keep them apart. I don’t think Nazgrel has been used since TBC but I freely admit to limited knowledge of horde questgivers use.
Jorin Deadeye is brought up every other month of so it seems when people want the Orc roster of used characters expanded or on who they expected to lead the Mag’har allied race (when it is the main universe version of them).
And well Etrigg is tied to Tirion Fordring and his backstory so he won’t be forgotten.
That’s certainly true. They have no shortage of Bilgewater Goblins for instance, yet somehow Gazlowe from the Steamwheedle Cartel ended up as the new Bilgewater Trade Prince.
The most important characters are the faction leaders. And only alliance gets covered on that front while blizzard keeps ignoring the horde ones or kills them off. Or makes them villains. Or all three of these things. Because Alliance bias is a thing.
I really, REALLY hope they keep Nathanos dead dead instead of him popping up again somewhere in Shadowlands as a raid boss or something. I’m so sick of him.
After the events of Shadows Rising Talanji, the Zandalari, and Bwonsamdi would be more on guard. And the epilogue of the novel is Sylvanas defeating Bolvar, so the Scourge attack happens not long after.
It’s also possible that Sylvanas could have anticipated that Talanji would be seen as a target once leaders started getting captured and took advantage of Talanji’s increased protection to acquire her targets.
I am not sure what you are getting at. Are you trying to limit things to BFA without expressly mentioning it?
Shaman see Rehgar in the Class Order Hall in Legion. Admittedly you have to play a Shaman for that content.
Nazgrel is still in Thrallmar in Hellfire Peninsula where he has always been. That is very much in the game.
Jorin Deadeye is also in Hellfire Peninsula, except he is at the mag’har encampment.
Aggra I am not familiar with cause I haven’t paid much attention to her. I freely admit that. Ximothy mentioned her being seen in the WoD version of Nagrand. I don’t personally remember it.
If you are meaning that the characters need more spotlight I said that when I put their names out there.
Nathanos going out in the prepatch bothers me because that encounter will likely be removed in a few weeks or by the next expansion. Seems a little shortsighted to have an important character just disappear.
All of the characters you’ve mentioned except for Eitrigg and Aggra have no had story roles for a decade, Julia. Rehgar’s a bodyguard npc or whatever. Aggra showed up to wave at us in Legion. These are not regular characters. We never see them, ever.
Yup I’m boycotting this event. Lor’themar has no right to be smug as he continued to fallow the Horde after helping to burn thousands of people to death.
