Shadowlands Making Me LOSE IT

No one in this thread is talking about hitting rated PvP. The OP said he wants to do casual PvP. At which point, anima gear is perfectly suitable to help him along his gear path.

You’re delusional if you think otherwise.

1400 is casual wtf do you mean lol. Thats the bottom tier. The entry to pvp. You don’t lose ranking till you hit 1200. 1400 is bronze tier.

You’re delusional if you think having 33% less damage and taking 33% more isn’t going to be a big deal in pvp.

In general though, this the problem:

1 Player says: I don’t want to do Covenant things.
1 Player says: Too much of an Honor grind.

Blizzard design: Do a partial covenant grind, do a partial honor grind. You’re gtg.
Both have an easy solution, neither wants to acknowledge it.

No one cares. You’re making up arguments now about a conversation that isn’t even happening. The OP is talking about Q’ing up for random BG’s and getting stomped. You’re literally creating discourse for no reason by stating that it’s so unreasonable for someone to recommend the OP get some anima gear to help supplement his gearing path.

I never said you shouldn’t get anima gear to have a stronger base. ANima is the fastest way to gear up in this game right now. Its way faster than M+ its way faster than pvp, but if you want to pvp, and take it seriously (Even in a casual way idk why casuals have to be bad.) You have to have that vers% and that honor set/conq.

I’ll clarify that this person is right, but the topic did originate in just doing basic casual PvP. But I want to be able to do that basic casual PvP so I can gear and enter the baseline range of 1400 where like 75% of people are. I didn’t mention 1400 because I know people would derail immediately into “OP just wants to beg for arena gear”, and because going to arena in basic PvP gear is so impossible it isn’t even worth mentioning.

But this was my point lol. You do know what I mean by “transition”.

And it doesn’t take 85k honor to have 197 ilvl vers gear. period. When you take the renown gear, supplement with the pvp trinkets and a few items of upgraded honor gear, and the conquest gear you’ll get just from farming those up. You’re good to go and get 1400 in the arena.

At this point I’m starting to believe the upper end of gear (220+) is just wrecking the game

Personally I think the gap in epic gear being 40 ilvls+ is just wayyy high

I mean I get you’re a heroic raider and thats about all you do, but I think you’re just ignoring how long it takes to transition your gear from 3 days of anima grind. To full honor via Battlegrounds.

To break it down. You get 500 honor a win. (Not counting the daily bonus thats one game. So ya know remove 1 game from this.) Thats 170 wins. For your honor set. If you lose you get about 125ish honor. So for every loss. Add 4 games to 170. Most people have a 50% win loss ratio so that 170 games. Turns into a pretty big number real fast. If you have a 50% win loss ratio. That breaks down to 510 Random battlegrounds. Before you get your full 197 pvp gear. SO if you’re a pvper, and you want to pvp for you’re gear. 510 games. Then you can do ranked. Then you can try for your 1400cr

That is awful.

“Heroic Raider”

I’ve literally only done Shriekwing on Heroic when my guild stonwalled in Normal, if that qualifies me as a heroic raider…Ill take it.

That being said: its asinine to believe that you need all honor gear to casual PvP. People have done it before, while gearing to PvP in the process.

Their should be equal paths of progression for , pvp , raid and mythic plus . With mythic raid and elite pvpers having equal item levels . Mythic plus got spat on and that’s pretty much ruined things for me . The loot drops are almost non existent other then the vault

Stop playing games that aren’t fun. Any frustration beyond the “this isn’t fun” thought is your own fault.

Well, it is the point, but you missed it.

Point being that doing Content A makes you stronger in Content B than people who only do Content B.

They have classes for dirt track races based on certain specs so someone can’t just spend $100k and never lose in the lower brackets. Having mythic geared raiders in your random BGs is like running fully modified late models in a backyard stock class.

I don’t get why it’s so hard for some people to grasp the concept that a lot of players only like a certain aspect of the game and it’s perfectly reasonable to want the rewards and balance for that aspect of the game to come from taking part in that aspect of the game.

Imagine if pet battles gave 235 gear how much mythic raiders would love that.

So PvP and get your butt handed to you until you’ve earned enough PvP gear to compete. Basically less QQ moar pew pew.

I mean the point was. You don’t do pvp as your main content to start with. So you’re speaking from a place of ignorance. But also yes. Doing any raid at heroic reliably would put you in the Heroic raider spot. You’re above normal raiding at that point. Granted thats an RP guild. So ofc it’ll be stonewalled in normal its not their main focus of content.

its really not. Back when gear didn’t matter as much in WoW. I’d agree with you, but if you hop in your time machine and go way back when gear had pvp power and pvp defense. It didn’t matter what pve gear you had on unless it was the top of mythic. You were going to get rolled. Vers is exactly the same thing as pvp power and defense. Until you have around 20% vers. You’re not doing anything useful in ranked pvp. Everybody else is going to have that 20%+ (Not counting the 40% buff from trinks) Imagine just flat doing 20% less damage in raiding? Not good. Equally mega not good in pvp.

Takes a lot of time and commitment farming pet battles man.

No, it really doesnt…

I mean, we’ve completed Normal fine by now. Like multiple times over, just no interest in Heroic.

You can look at my profile and see 10/10 Normal.

Okay but based on that, wouldnt the easy path be to get the covenant gear, then do Yolo battlegrounds to get conquest? This feels just like a multi-stepped process to make your life harder for no reason.
