Shadowlands Leveling Speed is Crazy Fast

Blizzard has finally understood that leveling is not the game and the game doesn’t start till you are a Max Level so why should it takes forever to hit it?

Leveling should be an introduction to your class not a painstaking process. This game doesn’t even start until you are max level

Because if everything is given to you there’s no value in it.

Can you please stop talking? People like you make miserable changes like the 7.3.5 exp nerf happen.

That’s 12 hours of poopsocking it your average player will not hit it in 12 hours.

If it took an hour or so I would agree with you but it’s going to take your average player 3 to 5 days which is all it should take.

As I said the game does not start until you are max level. So it should not take a long time start the game. It’s nice to know you were a high school kid with endless free time but not everybody that plays this game has the time you do

Hey you’ll make it to 120 just keep grinding.

What do you mean? Faster leveling speed has always been fun and making alts worthwhile make them a joy to play. Refer a friend got me to reroll my toons back from lapsing since WOTLK to play, great time. Plus well while im not sure about it, people were just using level boosts and skipping the entire 30-60 hour 1-120 grind and just buying a level boost or using the xpac anyways to skip it. A lot of people who still play this game have already played it before.

Sure, your first class might take you longer to learn, but your 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th and 7th each take exponentially less and less time before you have your hands on deck and learning the ropes.

What’s better, having a long and tedious 1-120 system 90% of people use a boost on, and then never play a alt again. Or a system where people can level and max a toon in 12 and then play endgame where most real progression happens?

Yet instantly poofing on a 110 toon is such a disorienting experience. I’ve said it before, i’ll say it again. I’d much rather be able to use my level boost to say trade it for a 4x exp boost 1-110 instead, maybe with a 2x boost for the 10 levels after just to even up the total time played (The exp boosted toon would still have more levels and time to go through even 120 levels at 4x speed [30], vs 10 levels at 1x speed [10], but it’d be fun and rewarding and just the right approach. IMO, it just feels better rapidly leveling a toon, then the disorientation of poofing onto a 110 having no clue if you will even like the class. Leveling lets you solve that approach, and if you wanted, you could delete the toon and refund it before level 60 or something to get the boost back or something.

But then the leveling changes came and, well this might be a decent change. I don’t get people who get confused with three digit numbers. Cookie clicker gets played by grandmas in their quintillions fine. But i guess it’s a revamp.

Imo there should be a sweetspot where the players are having fun, on the rush learning what they can handle, and not poofing. Leveling boosting to spawn 110 on a class you don’t know if you’ll like or how it’ll play is just massively disorienting and completely cheats the mmo leveling experience in the first place. 1-110 was a entire ghost town, even during korraks, no one in dungeons, no one in classic zones, just nothing. Everyone just poofed 110 and skiped the whole thing.

I don’t like leveling. One character, fine. But I have a stable of alts and slogging through leveling is a waste of time.

What does poop socking mean? LOL

They didn’t implement all these cool landscapes and areas for someone to blow through, pass 10s of levels, and be max level. The Journey of playing through the game is more important than max level to some

Thank you for explaining this to all these youngins.

What part of the MMO mission statement declares you need to waste time doing meaningless, unfun, repetitive tasks in order to get to the part you want? That’s the way it was in the past, but nothing about that is necessarily quintessential to an MMO.

I was unaware whether a game was an mmorpg or not solely depended on leveling speed.

If anything there will be able to be MORE attention to lore as you level because you’ll actually be able to finish a damn expansion for once.

Right now you get 1-2 zones in and OOPS off to the next one!

It was such a big term in the BC era. I will give you the definition for it.

Poopsocking is when a video gamer is so engrossed in his game, he won’t stop playing for any reason, even to go to the bathroom

Well, if you’re familiar with WoW and its lore, the boost shouldn’t be a problem.

But, imagine a new generation of WoW player playing through only one xpac. They’ll be missing a lot of stories because of it. I personally think that’s a loss.

Take off your heirlooms, travel the expac with zero gear on, shut your exp off. I don’t want to be hindered because a small minority of people want the game to be slowed down.

They changed that, I would advise removing heirlooms also.

Except after they finish leveling their first character they can pick whatever they want to level through after that?

Seriously, you are not getting the lore leveling NOW.

You get 1-2 zones worth of lore in whatever expansion and then you move on to the next bracket.

I can once again level through all of one expansion.

even without heirlooms you are not leveling through a whole expansion, hell, i’d be surprised if you even hit 3 zones without heirlooms.
