There is nothing dumb about the death of Billy the Racoon. That trash panda was evil incarnate.
What is so terrible about making guesses and leaving some thought for speculation?
You guys do realize the majority of the playerbase doesnât scan WoWhead for expac story beats right?
This isnât for us.
I mean besides the fact that youâll inevitably be disappointed because you care way more than the people making this game, I wasnât so much criticizing the act of speculation, more that I was chuckling at how all these plausible scenarios are still bad stories. Itâs not your fault, itâs just that thereâs basically nothing coherent for you to work with.
My current short list given we know Muehâzala was the one who brought Helya to the Jailer directly, and we know Ursoc was one of the last to enter the Shadowlands with a functioning Arbiter that we know about::
- Xavius, as he is a Night Elf turned Demon turned Old God servant
- Gulâdan, as in the moment before he died his portal turned into something that heavily resembles the Maw
- Kilâjaeden, maybe when Velen touched his forehead it gave his soul mortality once more
- Argus, the one I doubt the most given theyâve implied Titans go to the âPlane of Orderâ when they die
That being said, âthe arbiter breaking will be explained in an intro cinematicâ ION THAT WASNâT AN EXPLANATION THAT WAS A RED SOUL GOING INTO THE ARBITER
The anduin stuff before you escape was kinda neat.

If it even was a soul.
It also reminds me of âSylvanas motives will be explained in bfaâ and then they went and said âSylvanas motives will be explained in shadowlandsâ.
that much is safe I figure, as at this point everything was fine, so it was a soul of a dead person brought over by a Kyrian
Knowing blizzard it was a spaceship.
I am saying that with abit of sarcasm.
As an aside the in-engine cutscenes being able to match lip flaps to audio now is actually really impressive considering how ancient this game engine is.
The Jailer dropping Baine is literally the scene from Toy Story where Andy drops Woody on the ground and says âI donât want to play with you anymoreâ right down to the camera angle used.
That is all.
Can I just say that their in-engine cutscenes are noticeably improved.
Frankensteining stock player animations together invited mockery, and for good reason. I wonder if this is just purpose-built key animation for use in this one scene, or if thereâs an actual mechanism for lip sync now.
As to what fried the ArbiterâŚ

Perhaps the Dreadlords tampered with Argus (on Denathriusâs orders) so that he went where he was not supposed to go. The Arbiter was not created by the First Ones to process Titans, so she effectively crashed.
Maybe itâs the latest thing they borrowed from FFXIV. Not that Iâm complaining; I like having NPCs look at me, and lip flaps match dialogue, and the Palace of the Dead.
They can give the MSQ back though.
Another possibility is the souls that died when Azeroth was wounded.
I think the banshee like wail gives it away. Its likely Sylvanas when she jumped off Icecrown.
