It’s easy to blame “those darn elitist min/maxers” but those aren’t the only people affected. Yes, some people want to switch because Venthyr was nerfed and now Kyrian is 1% ahead, but others want to see the whole story on a single character, or want to mix and match the vanity items, or regret their original choice, or want to raid and PvP with different skills and soulbinds, and a whole host of other reasons, all of which are valid.
If “most players” enjoyed it, half the player base wouldn’t have quit. The covenant system was pure garbage backed by zero lore in the game from the outset.
Hi Kaivax thank you for the updates, will it be possible to fix the transmog bug in the outfits section? It is not letting me save untransmogged slots as part of the outfit.
Time gating in certain aspect is nice. Like with the covenant story and renanwn. You have time to digest and enjoy. And mostly is a linear for the first time I don’t have to chase dumb quest lines to see where I am or what’s going on.
Anything else is bs… Pvp is bad. Amount of gear is bad. The amount of stuff to do is bad, story was mee…
I get each expansion is a complete different game. And people come back and go and so on… But this is a really bad bad experience and make it worst is the indifference of devs thinking they have done an amazing job… Their entire population nos going to Ff14 and GW2. Now new world will be another big contender. …
Looks like or the interns at blizz since everyone else left to retire or harrased some one. Can’t deliver what we ask. Or t undo it on purpose as asmo say to create hipe and make people return… Once a player invest the first few hours in another game you won’t bring him back
I understand that. I have nothing against folks who multibox, even if they were using software, or hardware. Heck I have a couple friends that I used to play with over on Gorefiend realm that used to dual box in wow. After the rule/TOS change they went over, and started playing Ever Quest, so they could continue to do what they enjoy doing. I always saw it as a alternative playstyle. Why not advocate for them to do what EQ did, and ask them to turn one of the many dead realms in this game into a multibox only server? Ask them to keep it separate from all the other realms, that way it doesn’t interfere, hinder other players gameplay. Anyhow besides coming here to respond to your post, I would like them to consider putting Comp Stomp on a monthly rotation like they do Time walking dungeons.
Not even remotely true. Even out means 25% representation for each cov which has never been the case. At best you see 50-60%% of the player base is in the bis one for their particular spec and then 20-25% in another with the other 2 are dead in the water. A lot of variation is generally seen from picking one that is good for multiple specs as well. A good example of this is Shamen specs since Necro is BIS for Elemental and Resto but you still have a portion running Venthyr since Chain Harvest is second best for those specs but BIS for Enhancement because Primordial Wave is a dead ability for that spec. The same can be seen with Paladins. Or you have Hunters where about 80% went Night Fae except for a few MM hunters going Kyrian for Arena. This is seen also in normal/heroic guilds since they just copy what mythic guilds do even though you can get AOTC easy when not following the meta.
What is really frustrating is again how Blizzard is overconfident that players will not leave even if the time gating sacrifices the user experience. I believe similar thing was discussed in previous expansion regarding the gating as well, but apparently they neglect the feedbacks.
Now even their most loyal players may have second thoughts switching FF14.
A little confused on something, so do we have to have a renown threshold for each individual faction to carry over to a alt? Or let’s say, if I am renown 60 on night Faye, can I skip the renown grind on Venthyr for a alt if I have not leveled Venthyr before??
How about portals in each covenant to other covenants and oribos, that would be sweet. And while I’m asking could you do something about that butt ugly moonkin form that’s been around since Christ was in diapers
While this is true, it’s actually a nearly verbatim laundry list of “things Alpha & Beta testers told them would not work/needed to be changed or implemented” LONG before the expansion even launched.
The difference there is, while devs may or may not actually VISIT the forums to read threads, they DO receive bug & suggestion feedback sent via the in-game methods during Alpha & Beta.
And for all who think this is Ion admitting that he was wrong well, please read again. Essentially, what’s being said is, “Ok FINE. You don’t like our AWESOME AND AMAZING new set of restrictions and systems so we’re just going to give you what you want. It’s not as great as what we created though.” I’d really REALLY like to think that we won’t be presented with yet another set of systems in 10.0 but…
And uh… if anyone is reading this that might take a suggestion here or there… Can you PLEASE put BACK the stuff in the various expansions that you took away? You gave us Chromie Time so we can 1) replay our favorite expansions on alts &/or 2) BRING NEW PLAYERS TO THE GAME & replay our favorite expansions with them. Have you ANY clue how stupid it is for them to go through the questline to get their special weapon, only to see everything on it greyed out & be told on mouseover, “The power this weapon held was drained to cleanse the sword of Sargeras & help heal Azeroth” - at which point they are asking us WTF is this??? The entire Legion expansion was built around those weapons and they should be EXACTLY as they were when that expansion was relevant for those playing that expansion. As of now, we’re using weapons whose power was drained in an event that HAS NOT YET HAPPENED in that expansion’s timeline (Yeah, I DO get how that has Chromie written ALL OVER IT, but still…)! Wrathion’s guards are still all over Pandaria, sending you to see him but uh… HE AIN’T THERE anymore! Just put the stuff back! Cloak quest, ring quest, Artifact weapon power, etc. All of those things are replaced pretty quick upon entering the newest expansion anyway, so what does it hurt to put them back? Oh and while you’re at it, put the Wrathgate scenario back too. There was NO reason to take THAT out.
While i will praise them for following their visions till 9.1.5 , its also nice they’re open about changing their vision of the game for those that dont like actual games that take time and arent instant
While i do enjoy both , i can say energy conduit and grateful offering are out of place while covenant switching was pretty much nailed properly (balance between them is another discussion lol) But im glad they’re using the story to make it an easy switch now that they’re all allied vs the jailer …
I think they’re still convinced that no one will leave the game no matter what, because everybody is too addicted. Or if they do, they’ll be back next week.
We keep being told this in the forums, and I don’t doubt those posters are getting the vibes from the actions of the devs.
Please fix humans. We don’t need an 11th color of NE or some body tats that are going to be covered with gear… Human males don’t need tree trunk forearms. Slimmer builds should be an option since you are allowing customizations to reflect player base. Female toons have pathetic shoulders.
Al the changes coming in 915 are welcome. But they STILL not fixing the main issues, and now that adding even more catching stuff to make the game even more complicated to understand what it where you get x item…
A this extra stuff that we never gave feedback. Keep it simple!!! Don’t add more currencies. Just drop more meaningful loot. One good loot out of vault every week blows… Pvp gear and pvp one shot still sucks… I am very disappointed of wow … with exodus and they still cant follow feedback the breadcrumbs for players to stay… They keep pushing us to go to Ff14 and GW2.
The time gating on upgrades or material production (looking at you MoP and WoD) to be able to make things/do things is not fun.
Hell, even giving a gold sink option to legacy content to allow you to instantly grow farm plots in MoP or instantly refresh daily cooldowns for WoD would be great imo
