Shadowlands Bag Size

According to a member of my raid team they stopped increasing bag sizes because of a server side coding issue. Apparently the servers can’t handle to many bag slots on all the players. He said blizzard stated this a while ago but Im not sure where.

How are people using up all that bag space o.o

That’s a very good question. I would also like to see someone at Blizzard help fix the bag overflow many of us experience. One example: why do Archaeology keystones still stack as items of 20 per stack! when it could easily be currency that we carry around with no bag space lost? Same goes for Darkmoon tokens, and most of all the Mechagon soul bound items, etc…

Your post got me thinking, profession reagents could be turned into currency also. This would free up a lot of space and they could still be traded or sold if they wanted to make it like when you cage a pet and turn it into a boe item.

I mean, best wishes, and I hope they give us bigger bags to make people happy because why not, but on that note:

I have never understood – and am continually shocked – when I see how much crap people carry around in their bags.

I main a druid. I carry around three full sets of gear in my bags (I wear the fourth one), all three hearthstones, my flight whistle, my fishing pole, various and sundry potions and buff foods for multiple specs, tomes and a few things I’m forgetting, etc.

I carry 4 16-slot bags (I lied by accident. One of them the Goat Tote, so 3 16’s and a 28), and I never run out of bag space.

I cannot fathom what people are doing that they need 4 30-slot bags for their inventory. For the bank? Sure.

But I would actually LOVE to see some streamers or YT folks do videos about what they carry in their ridiculously massive bags and why. Because I don’t get it and I’m fascinated.

Ikr? I have 30 slotters and don’t clean often but usually it’s just trash i need sell and scrap.

Right? I don’t get it. I seriously want people to start making videos about this. I’m that person who likes going through people’s purses and wallets and junk drawers when they allow it. I’m fascinated by what people keep and carry. /shrug

I guess it’s one of my quirks, but I don’t carry much ingame. I stop before logout every day and put it away in the bank or vend it/send it to the bank alt. So my bags are almost always near empty.

I see people streaming who open their bags, and it’s just…Pla-DOW! Tons of random stuff. People with add-ons to organize their bags? I mean. I’m both horrified and fascinated. People who carry 136 slots full of stuff and frequently have to shuffle things to accept a flask from me in raids because they don’t have an inventory slot open (how did they expect to loot anything?) – those people need to let me look at their stuff.

Edited to Add: I don’t WANT my mats turned into currency. I like having them in my bags while I’m farming so it’s right there and I can see it pile up until I reach my session goal. I don’t want it to go to currency, and bag space is never an issue. Mats don’t live in my bags. They live in my bank…where they belong. When I’m collecting them, I want them in my bags.

Everybody riding mammoths for the extra bag space!

I can’t keep up with all the random crap in my bags! As soon as I get rid of all the Nazjatar crap it’s immediately replaced with like 3x more garbage the second I even step foot in that zone.

Fun detected. Initiating flames.

for mats, i really think adding the reagent bank was enough, maybe they could expand it a bit, if you sell old things it can fill up fast.

Agreed. I’d like to see the reagent bank double in size. I’m a scribe, so I have herbs from multiple expansions and pigments and inks from all over that I’d like to keep.

Once you add all the current expansion food mats and quest mats, etc…it fills up pretty fast.

I feel like there should be some quest chain to turn the Void Storage into some portable armory. Bags only get jammed because of all the random gear people are carrying around. Imagine if there was some General tab spell that was like “Summon Armory” and you could store any gear over a certain item level (up to 100 items) into the portable armory and just hot swap with a 1hr cooldown; additionally incorporate it into Sets so you could just name and summon a new set without storing 35 different pieces.

I wish they would turn void storage into just another bank with slots. I have gold, I would pay for it and everything.

They’re adding a new ink trader in SL to trade SL ink for lower inks, that should help with that.

34 slot bag is already in the game off the mad merchant for 500kg. So I doubt they’ll allow tailors to make them.

That being said, they did go back on their word about the spider mount he sells so…maybe they will.
