Shadowlands: A Look at Cross-Faction Instances

If you consider buy a token, and then using its gold pay to win, then what would it be for gathering gold in the game to use to buy a carry? Seems that this is the same, since you’re not earning your gear by grinding raids every week, and just getting the aces for the raids to basically give the gear.

Real pay to win is giving cash directly, through a shop in order to progress.

wow players like to spend real money and pay 2 win thats why they defend it.

Hi, I don’t care about cross-faction raiding, personally, although many do. What the community at large really wants is cross-faction guilds. Sometimes, opposing factions can work together for a greater good or against a greater evil. In those occasions, it’s good to have people on both sides. I feel like it would open up a whole new spirit of cooperation between players, and maybe the trolls/griefers, could learn to get along.

Except doing this, you don’t get the bonus experience, which is what makes doing dungeons while leveling worth it. They’re useless otherwise, especially if leveling in areas such as Draenor or Legion which don’t have quests in dungeons.

edit: Also I’m not trying to start an argument, just trying to get a point across. :slightly_smiling_face:

Who even wants this other than the few snowflakes that for some reason think the horde and alliance need to make peace and get along and bake cookies all day…? What dysfunctional friend groups actually play opposing factions?

You moogs cheering this on are ridiculous. They’re ONLY doing it because player count is so low after they’ve spent the last 3 expansions flushing the game down a crusty toilet, that they don’t have a choice but to throw everyone into the same que. This is significantly less work than trying to draw in new/returning players. No one, literally no one in-game even talks about getting rid of factions. It’s core to the game. Game’s already weak without tearing away at the main point of the game.

It’s pitiful how you few can’t be asked to make a choice, or manage to play both factions. I can’t imagine you are capable of much irl either.

If you want to get banned, sure.

The factions are always teamed up? WTF game have you been playing? or did you only join up at some point in the last 2, maybe 3 expansions? lmfao you are beyond disconnected

nope you wont get banned at all blizzard wants token sells to pay for runs their president sells heroic runs…its to p2w you wont get banned.

I said it before I’ll say it again. If carries are considered p2w, then every single games in existence is, because you can just as well pay your neighbor to play for you.

And when everything is p2w, nothing is.

This is patently false. There is a battlenet account wide limit on the number of communities and guilds you can use. It’s high if you have only one character but low if you are a super user with many alts.

ill say it again let me spend REAL MONEY to buy wow gold so i can pay to get ksm, heroic.mytihc raid loot, mounts and achievements and arena rating all with the power of REAL MONEY behind me.

Blizz is not refusing cross faction guilds. They’re simply starting with something less ambitious because its easier to give something than to take it away and safer to temporarily break groups than it is to permanently break guilds.

If they give us cross faction guilds and somehow its terrible, “going back” would literally break most of the guilds in the game (because probably every group has people looking to play another race).

Cross faction guilds are coming. For sure. But skipping straight to the end and trusting it will be well received and all the systems will work as intended is not how you implement such a major change.

We’ll agree to disagree there.

My stance is that Factions as they were added, never should of been to start.

:placard: cross-faction guilds! :placard: lets gooo

I didn’t know that :scream: Well, at least you can join more communities as opposing to guilds being a singular thing. I know I’ve been in about 5-6 communities at the same time but only ever did content with 1 as they fulfilled what I was looking for.

I just hope there’s a way to set communities to be faction only.

Your one of the reasons WoW is dying. Faction conflict killed the game.

My what is one of the reasons wow is dying?

I have always been Horde since classic, you know, back when there was like a 30% Horde population and a 70% Alliance population. I’m not one of the streamer fans that left the Alliance in late WoD/Early Legion or whatever. Don’t blame me for your problems.

Furthermore, I used to be bifactional, but I got tired of the constant quibbling about “hOrDe BiAs,” and the incessant spam about “aLlIaNcE hIgH eLvEs.” These two things have descimated all of my good will and empathy towards players of the Alliance, this is a direct consequence of bad behavior.

Due to the aforementioned bad behavior, outside of existing members of the guild/raid team playing alts, I will not be recruiting Alliance players to the guild I’m a recruiter for. I will not be pugging Alliance players should hell freeze over and we need to pug. I don’t plan on welcoming Alliance players into communities I run, nor do I plan on including them into raid should I have to bring a pug in to m+ runs with the guild.

Sorry, not sorry.

The horde bias is real tho, you can’t deny it. It’s been shown over and over again until BFA. One very obvious horde bias was the nazjatar hubs. Alliance got a tiny little area with a few houses and had to do extra quests on top of killing a boss and saving npcs(namely kill 20 normal enemies to prove yourself), horde got a FULL BLOWN cave with giants as bodyguards spawning non stop and on top of that their quest was solely to save npcs and kill a boss…then you got your hub. Alliance nazjatar hub got bullied all day everyday during pvp event, it sucked. Horde hub was VERY HARD to get into.

That was one of many horde bias instances and I’ve got many more I’ve noted over the years…its sad how a horde majority dev will ruin alliance with game features.

Is cross faction alt trading allowed in any capacity? I read that and now i cant find it. If not, this is already so restrictive im wondering why bother
