How well are the shadow priests doing in the delves solo? How well compared to a ret paladin? Just curious.
I hope someone answers, because I want to get my Shadow Priest in there and I’d like to know what to expect. Probably…pain.
I just did a couple 8’s recently and they’re not too bad, if you have Brann heal. All you really have to do is occasionally pick up the little HP pots he drops and just attack things as normal. SPriest survivability is pretty bad though.
I just did Sepulcher of the First Ones on mythic for mogs and I was dying constantly to mechanics. It felt bad, considering I never died on my Prot Pally or Demo Lock.
I find it easier to run shadow priest in delves compared to my primary mage. Being able to heal and get rid of some conditions helps. I find it easier to run with brann as healing since as tank he tends to run off to make friends but as tank because shadowpriest has some heals its passable.
I don’t really know shadow very well and my shadow priest does okay in them.
Also, mind control is great. Doesn’t work for underpin mobs but works for all the other humanoids.
its… fine. probably less awful to go as disc though. you will be tanking unless you can heal and dps as spriest to a decent degree (which I cannot lol)
Ret is better because it’s ret but shadow is fine. 11s will be doable at around 630 if you make use of your toolkit as well as dominate mind.
I’ve run multiple classes up to 8 this season and shadow priest definitely feels the worst in a lot of ways. It’s definitely doable but it’s not nearly as much fun as ret paladin or fury warrior or any sort of hunter. Make sure you run Brann as healer.
My shadow priest does fine in delves, but not gonna lie I’m not great on Spriest and thinking of respeccing to discipline. It’s only for my own solo play enjoyment for now.
I just find the rotation for spriest sucks as put forth by icy veins and everything takes a long time to proc. Probably I am playing her wrong, but really have tried.
Eta–when she floats and fades it helps with the mobs and ground swirlies. So some nice defensives there.
It’s my most fun spec in there by far.
Grab an OP ELite with Dominate mind, Healer Brann, and ROFL @ the whole Delve.
It’s a BLAST!
Doing T11s BTW.
I started T11s @ 610.
Shadow has plenty of AOE CC and can do decent self-healing in a pinch so it’s better than a rogue, but that’s not saying much. A similarly geared paladin will be slightly better, not miles.
A prot paladin though. LOL. Crush 11s at ilvl 630 and never break a sweat.
Shadow is very easy in delves. It’s perfectly do-able without but becomes even easier if you are abusing the heck out of dominate mind.
Possibly. I run both SP and Ret in delves and with dominate mind in the equation I think the SP clears the fastest of the two.
Well, if you are not concerned about Tier level you can lower it to the point where you can play. Question is, what is your goal playing your Shadow Priest in Delves and what is your gear level going in?
That’s what I worry about the most.
I tried him as a tank with my ret paladin and it was rough. I switched him back to healing and it went a lot smoother.
I didn’t know you could do that to mobs and have them turn on the others?
Yea a lot of people are saying this.
I don’t want to put a ton of time into it. My paladin takes the mass majority of my play time. I always worry about getting sidetracked with alts. Shadow priest looks really cool though. I have to admit Xal’atath is a pretty cool antagonist. I honestly hope she doesn’t disappear at the end of the expansion when defeated. I would like to see her carried forward to future expansions.
They are extremely easy for shadow. Damage is tuned way down.
