Server Transfer in Classic

Why wouldn’t they be included?

They are likely the only service that would be offered in Classic WoW. They existed in 2006. I most likely won’t use them. But others might.

So around phase 5 and 6?

Compared to Vanilla… YES…

Specifically CP6 if keeping with the original timetable. High Pop transfers would be around CP4.

I disagree 100% =D

Ok, but TBC > Wrath entirely on community because at least in TBC there was some of it left over from Vanilla…

The “community” in Wrath was almost non-existent…

And TBC felt dead by the time people figured out that they could have multiple 70’s for 1/3rd the effort of a single 60 in Vanilla…

That and a flood of serve transfers both to and from my realm left the realm feeling entirely void of any sense of community that it previously had in Vanilla…

This is not to say that it was not head and shoulders better in Wrath VS now, but… Can we really compare BFA to Wrath??

That’s like comparing some sort of life threatening disease to another…

They did? I missed this quote.

It was in the interview the classiccast recorded with the classic lead dev and it was the very last question if I recall, I think esfand(?) asked about a cash shop and they said they will look into the features that were available during vanilla.

Oh now that you describe it to me, I remember.

Cool. What else would you do if you could get away with it?

I like the idea of allowing a transfer if a server completely dies. Set some non-arguable benchmark for a “dead” server (“dead” determined by # of logins by max lvl characters over a specific time period, perhaps) and let people transfer off if they choose.

Where’s the downside? Keeps people subbed. I’m sure plenty would rather not play than have to grind to max again.

I disagree again

I get to tell people what I actually think of them here as opposed to what I do most days. I find it extremely hard to believe you’re at the level of walking upright with opposable thumbs yet here you are.

Nice ad hominem. That’s what I fall back on when I can’t win an argument sometimes, too.

I mean it was a huge issue and part of the reason behind Naxx seeing so few guilds actively progress in it but by all means ignore reality.

Ah, you’re like one of those reddit kids that googled a few logical fallacies and then try to throw them in whenever they can.

You see, I wasn’t trying to attack your argument by attacking you. I was just attacking you directly.

That’s what I say too when I reply to someone’s retort with an insult, they call me out, and I don’t have anything to say other than personal attacks.

C’mon champ, educate us all some more with your upper level management business experience.

It’s the only change I want in vanilla because unrestricted transfers completely destroyed communities at the end of vanilla and the beginning of BC. There should be free transfers to fix faction imbalances and dead servers and nothing else.

What I expect blizzard to do is to restrict transfers at the beginning of vanilla and then allow them once population numbers start to dwindle to milk some more cash out of classic.

The only form I would like to see them in was when they use to offer unpaid server transfers. These usually were offered to players on extremely high pop realms or extremely low pop realms, and if I recall correctly, only a certain number of them.

I remember I used such a transfer to go from Bloodhoof (an extremely overpopulated server) to Area 52, which was, at the time, a brand new realm. A lot of the top guilds from Bloodhoof (and elsewhere) transferred there and that new realm became a PvE haven, and Bloodhoof was no longer stuck with one-hour queue times.

What I don’t want is people guild-hopping to better servers and leaving them in the dust. I think we should see High-pop to new/medium pop servers, or low to medium-pop server transfers. Definitely not high to high or medium to medium.
