Seriously, do something about the bots!

Alright, you have three other forums to report these individuals too as well as reporting a certain website that promotes it.

Why not reporting them to Blizzard instead of complaining here where nothing gets done?

just because people are complaining here, doesn’t mean they’re not reporting.

?

pretty sure there aren’t any forums for reporting.

Kay maybe not all forums, but still.

customer support doesn’t take reports.

“hacks” is more for things like terrain exploits, bug exploits, and addons which are doing nefarious things.

and the other one isn’t even from this region :stuck_out_tongue:
(hmm but it does look like they use the same email)

just use the ingame right click>report.

Price on site that is trustworthy is for my server is the same as token price. You can get slightly better price if you purchase millions or more but not much. Dont know what sites you googled and wont list the site here as that maybe a violation. 150k gold for 27ish and token sells for 130k ish.

That is my reasoning for thinking there is something other than raw gold selling.

aaaaaaand now i’m super curious about how you’d know they’re trustworthy
(especially considering what they’re doing isn’t exactly above board)

The site is for ALOT of games. I sold my everquest account and alot of plat back in the day had a lot of free time and multiple accounts.

Also if you purchase currency blizzard cant say that its not just a random person giving you something so long as nothing is said in game. So hard to police from that angle.

The botting and the virus on some sites to steal accounts and then strip yeah that practice is deplorable.

The only way to stop this is to stop their ability to make real life money and, in my opinion, that is not thru raw gold selling there has to be something else.

My limited view of only my server and 1 site so I could be wrong and other sites and other servers might be how they are making real money for gold.

BOT LIVES MATTER LOL! Soon there will be bots protesting outside your house!

I’ve only been around since bfa. It seems like bots have always been around? I doubt blizz will figure out how to deal with them

They love the bots to a certain point. These ppl pay for multiple, sometimes dozens of accounts at the same time. They destroy the AH value of farmable mats and therefore craftables, making it impossible to obtain real amounts of gold with professions. This in turn forces most players to buy tokens to actually get gold. It’s quite obvious really.

That’s an issue with your server’s economy. Prices for mats are now higher on my server for the mats because there’s less mats on the market compared to a month ago. Consequently several of us food/flask/bag makers have raised the prices of the crafted product to still eke out a profit. Occasionally someone will post the crafted for lower than it takes to make it, but a good AH overlord will buy those up and repost for higher.

I’ve gone looking for the farmers/bots for specific items and have seen far fewer - so blizz is definitely cracking down. I’ve even been sharded where inconceivably, there are no druids farming.

They do do something, you may agree or disagree with it’s effectiveness but they do do something, they read the reports of bots, watch them, break them in a patch, add them to warden, upload the patch to WoW then mass ban the broken bot. Then 2.5678 seconds later new bots emerge then it starts anew but it all starts with you reporting every bot you see (so far I’ve had cause to report exactly 0 this expansion as I have yet to see any).

If you have a better way to deal with bots please share your ideas. Whack a mole does not work as it shortens the time it takes for them to appear by 2.5677 seconds.

Okay but like what.

I know I reported at least 8 people for advertising gold selling sites within a hour when I was playing classic. Not played classic since Dec, so don’t know, if they still spam chat. Hard telling how many people buy gold from those sites though. I know Blizz wants to keep classic like it was back in the day, but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised, if they eventually add something like a wow token. Especially, if there are a lot of people buying gold from those sites. Tbh I haven’t seen any bots in retail since Legion. Of course I play mostly on very low pop realms, and I guess bot hackers tend to bot on high pop realms.

Me too, now if we can remove the root cause (more people on high pop realms giving money to the bot makers / gold sellers / account thieves) then the bots would stop being profitable enough and would be less in number.

So if a player wants to “play” the game by running a program, then going to bed / work and coming back to 200+ Heavy Callus Hides, that’s completely fair to everyone else?

BDO has auto fishing. I would kill for auto fishing/ gathering in wow. Gathering mats is the worst part of the game and when a stack of feasts takes 500 fish and 400 meat among other things it completely disrespects our time. I would love to set my character to gathering while I am at work or asleep and come back to bags full of mats.

A token is way less than I make in an hour at work. Farming all the mats I need to make feasts would take several hours at least. Without auto gathering its more cost effective to buy mats off the AH than gather them myself. If bots make this even more cost effective than go bots.

Why would they do anything to their most loyal customers?

Well, you have no proof. If you report them and Blizzard do not take any action: maybe they are no bots?

Do they need a solution? Blizzards not paying them are they? That’s blizzards job, not his.
