Sept 8th/9th 2019 - WoW Companion App Won't Connect

I’ll add to the list of people. Was also happening in the EU side as well (I was logged into that forum by mistake wondering why I couldn’t post lol) so not just us!

Same as everyone else, login, get kicked to char select, get kicked back to login.

Last time I was able to open my character in WoW companion app was the night of September 7th (US). Since morning of the 8th I can log into the app, get to the list of characters (which is correct) and when I tap on any character it just (after a few minutes) throws me back to Login button screen.

P.S. Tried 3 different Wi-Fi networks, my phone is from AT&T, tried on mobile data too. I am running Android 10 on Pixel 3. App used to work for couple of days after upgrade to Android 10, so I don’t think it’s the Android version.

Are you sure you’re posting to the right forum? Do you know what WoW companion app is?

I am having the exact same issue. I can get to the Character selection screen, select the character, attempts to connect but returns me to the login screen.
I have also uninstalled and reinstalled.
Have used the app for maybe 3 weeks and stopped working 2 days ago.
I am on US server

I am very sure I am posting in the right forum, I use the WoW Companion app daily. I even took the time to make my post fairly articulate as to avoid confusion. Maybe, just a guess here, you didn’t read my post in it’s entirety to get to the part about the reason why an Android app would be having the same issue as users trying to play on Linux machines.

Edit: Would you look at that. Right after I posted this response, the thread was merged with another, and a blue post saying they think it is related to the issues Linux users are having. Turns out I knew what I was talking about. I am an Android dev, an iOS dev, and a full time sysadmin, this is kinda what I do. One should exercise caution when attempting to throw shade at the sun.

I tried the full re-log with no success as well.

Additional info: I am using a Samsung Galaxy S10 for the companion app, t-mobile cell service, Verizon ISP for wi-fi.

Having the same issue. It kicks me back to the screen saying “Login”, “Account Selection”, “Americas and Oceanic”. I removed and reinstalled the app: same issue. I turned off WiFi (Spectrum) and left it just on Verizon: same issue. Tried the app on my Android tablet. Same issue. Started around the time of when the DDOS started.

I’ve had the same issue since Sat. Login, character select, then connecting, and back to log in

Verizon user. Tried on multiple wifi networks and cellular data. Get the same login loop on any connection type.

Same issue, just keeps getting going back to character select.

Same situation here as well. Verizon and Galaxy S8+. Even after selecting my toon and on wifi, still no luck. Uninstalled, reinstalled… nothing.

(Why does it pick a different character each time I login?)
He knows and I think is on to the problem exactly. Since Saturday the app on Android tablet exhibits the exact behavior as specified elsewhere in the thread, go as far as character select, choose, then rejected to the login page. Click login, back to character select. App on iPhone is functional, both on data and the same wifi the tablet is on. This is for sure Android specific, and probably related to the ddos, as he said.

Ditto… Both Android tablet and phone won’t connect toons since ddos.

Still not working for me. Pixel 2xl. Either wifi or mobile data. I just noticed yesterday by the morning. I tried the whole day without success. It goes to. The character select and after a while on the “connecting” screen, it goes.ack to login.

same issues here. log in, char select, choose char, goes back to login.
doesn’t matter if on my wifi, other wifi, or 4g.
