Ever since the problems started Saturday I haven’t been able to connect to the app to run mission tables. I don’t see any topics on this so thought I’d ask. Is it a problem only on my end?
Same issue here Pixel 3 Android 10. (maybe not updated for Android 10?)
Anyone know?
We suspect that this is probably related to the other connectivity issues we are seeing right now. Does this issue persist when you are on wifi in your home AND while you’re on your 4g/mobile phone connection, or only while you’re using your mobile phone’s network?
I cant use the application either. I have Samsung S8+ i tried wifi and phone data. It used to only work on wifi now it won’t work at all. My boyfriend’s identical phone on same service line and same wifi doesnt have any problems connecting to the app. Ive also reinstalled and restarted…
My wife still has no problems logging in on data with her Samsung J7, meanwhile i still am unable to connect through data. Is it an issue with newer mobile operating systems on t-mobile network and patch 8.2?
Been using the companion apps since they were introduced with no problems until this patch.
Edit - Now neither of us can connect at all period.
I got just the same problem, connecting to different wifi networks not working, connecting to my data not working either, I’m from Ecuador so T-Mobile does not exist here, I got an S9 it’s obviously a server problem
TMobile user, for a month+ it only works via Wi-Fi (I can hot spot from 1 phone and use it on another but obviously that’s not how it’s supposed to be used). Now for a day+ it doesn’t work at all. I get the app is free, but as a software engineer myself, I have to ask do you even test?
Can’t access via cell or wi-fi since yesterday. When I tap on the character name, it churns at “connecting for a while” then goes back to the main “login”/“account selection” screen.
As posted in this thread (Companion app not working - #31 by Drakuloth), I can’t connect via wi-fi or cell data since yesterday.
Just like in game, unable to connect with Tmobile after the DDoS, can’t connect with the phone app now after this Sep 8 DDoS
I use my phones tether to play wow on due to it having a steady low latency. If i switch to using my home internet (high latency), I can log in.
Now if i’m tethered on my phone and i switch my phone to wifi it won’t connect then either. So my phones Data and my phones wifi connection to my home internet won’t work. However if I plug directly into my router I can then log in (with very high latency).
I use Sprint data on my phone.
My home internet is some 3rd rate pos, i live in the middle of nowhere.
I’ve tried on both wifi and cell with no success since Saturday afternoon. Both worked prior to that. Samsung S7 if that helps any.
It wont auto log me in as it usually does, I have to manually press Login, NP
I see my char selection, select char.
Takes me to login.
I see my char selection, select char.
Takes me to login.
I never get in.
Edit: Did a full uninstall and reload, nothing changes.
I am having the exact same issue, it seems to have started yesterday. I am using a Galaxy S9+. Tried on both cellular and 2 different WiFi’s as well.
Well, though it’s small comfort, the fact that other people are having the exact same problem does make me feel a little better. I assume that they’ll have gotten enough complaints by now to move quickly to update the app.
Me as well. Any idea when there will be a fix for this?
Having the same problem here. Just went on the Google Play store to look at the app ratings and all the ratings from today say the same thing. It’s clearly a problem on Blizz’s end and not the mobile carrier, as they were trying to pass off in another thread.
This, in my opinion (not working for Blizz and all) is directly related to the people playing on Linux machines problem. Seems one method Blizz used to try to mitigate the DDoS that was claimed to be coming from IoT devices, was to use TTL filtering since the default TTL value is different between PC/Mac/Linux. That way they are able to discard any garbage data being thrown at them from compromised Linux based IoT devices. The unfortunate byproduct of that temporary fix, is that Android under the hood is Linux, it matches Linux fingerprinting, and would be discarded in the same way.
Again, just my opinion as someone who does not work for Blizz, but able to make an educated guess at the situation. I would assume once things have smoothed over from the weekend, that mitigation would be removed, and the app will work properly again.
Just want to throw my hat in as well. Companion app is not working for me for a day or two now. Same exact problem as described.
Same here for several days now… connecting for a few minutes, then returns to login splash screen.
Uninstall / reinstall, wifi vs 4g, multiple devices - no change.
