Sensible Starsurge nerfs

Obviously, they should nerf hunters.

people are shook that druids aren’t free HKs in pvp anymore

The hilarious thing about Starsurge is because the Dev team isn’t giving the Balance spec the necessary mods to be competitive. Starsurge ultimately needs a buff, not a nerf.

Sad, but true

12 seconds - doubling the cooldown - would be egregious IMO.

And how do you know other classes including shadow priests wont have burst on par?

Why should Starsurge have a 42 yard range while every other offensive spell in their arsenal is 36? It just doesn’t make any sense.

Especially considering no other class can touch them from 42 yards. When they get travel form they’ll be able to kite ANY class and kill them with nothing but Starsurge, and there will be no counter play. That is absurd.

yea but its design is an issue. if casting it gave you 30% damage to your next starfire or wrath it would be better in pve and less dumb in pvp

rogues are gonna eat them alive tbh

People said the same thing about hunters with cheetah. Wheres the forum post about that?

Comparing cheetah to travel form is foolish.

Also worth noting that Hunters have been nerfed 20 times.

Nah.

They need to buff the rest of the toolkit of Balance. Not Starsurge.

Fireball is the only Mage spell that has a 42 yard range.
Not an exact comparison as it’s not instant cast but still applies to the logic.

Yeah…the context is important.

Imagine if Fireblast was the only Mage spell with 42 yard range. Would that make sense?

If you let someone open on you with a 3s cast (after talents), then you most likely should die in PvP.
Highly unlikely you will be having around 50% crit with Eclipse unless you are full BiS at 40 though, but 37-40% is still pretty good.

Unless they buff Moonkin form it isn’t going to be that great, it’s only 3% spell crit offensively.

It’s most likely a waste to use the global cooldown when you are kiting with Travel and go back to dealing damage.

The crits are going to be scary with Starsurge though for sure, +60% crit (assuming it utilises both Eclipse buffs) and the 100% crit damage.

I didn’t disagree that Starsurge isn’t significantly stronger.
Was just taking your comment at face value.

Why are you so fixated on the 42 yard range? How OP a class is in 1v1 scenarios is not even on blizzards radar.

There are a lot of situations where this can easily happen.

Especially considering Druids have Entangling Roots.

In pvp if you take the time to setup damage, then you should be able to do damage. Sometimes there is no counterplay for a given scenario, and thats ok, but people coming on the forums because they died to a starsurge running away saying 42 yards omgwtf need to stop whining.

Why should hunters get 46 attack range when everyone else has 30?

Why should fireball have 35 when frostbolt has 30?

Why does lf have infinite range?

What a stupid argument.

I didn’t say it’s not ok.
I’m very much looking forward to Seduce globalling people on my lock as Destro.

Just countering that “if someone can Starfire you, you suck” is also a stupid argument.

“If you let someone…”?

You’re fighting a mob. A Druid is in stealth 30+ yards behind you. He leaves stealth to cast Starfire on you.

You not eating that Starfire? And the instant cast Starsurge to follow?

Do tell.
