Selling Loot In Raids

Yeah I couldn’t find anything on it.

Blizzard is inconsistent because it does not have actual rule enforcement, just feelz and vibez. Very close to going off to play EQ Legends when it releases.

Right he isn’t banned, just a bunch of bunched panties Karens calling for it though.

He’s not banned and he won’t get banned for this, unless they nab him if he was buying the gold he used. (Fat chance lol)

You shouldn’t be taking anything fatdabs says seriously tbf.

Yeah i didnt really believe him which is why i asked him to provide a source.

I looked at Payo’s videos and nothing showed he was suspended.

hey i play diablo with a guy named fatdabz lol.

hes a credible source!

If I win items that are HRed can I still sell those?

Wondering if I can HR all the gear in the raid and then trade it for gold, afterwhich I would want to give out portions of that gold to those who also attributed to the raid success.

Or is this literally only legal if I keep all the gold for myself?

That part you cannot do. The rules are very clear.

So I just need to keep all the gold for myself?

At what point could I use that gold and to what limits?

Like if I run a lotto/auction after raid because everyone was so nice that wouldn’t be allowed?

Would I need to wait X amount of hours before this auction/lotto is allowed?

Blizzard is not constrained by the exact letter of their rules.

The TOS gives them the right to recognize exactly what you are up to and ban you for it.

I have no intention of doing any of this. It’s a question about the policy. Just looking for clarity.

Technically by their own rules if you win an item and sell it that’s completely ok. Now if you “hr” that’s up to debate if you “won” it.

At the end of the day if they want to ban you for whatever you do they will.

The absolute safest way to do this is to sell it after actually winning it. HRing it and then selling it seems like a pretty gray area where I could see them banning for it but I don’t think they’ll ever actually follow through with it.

I think if you did something clearly trying to work around it like advertising everything is HRed but willing to be sold after you got it….i bet they would ban you pretty quick for that.

Lets say I sell an item for 10k gold and decide to give a portion to myself and some other raiders in the group. Would that be considered an infraction?

I bet you wouldnt just be banned I bet you would be flagged fairly quickly if you did that within any reasonable time after that raid. Maybe if you held onto it for a week or two?

I’m pretty sure during sod when they banned it they were sending emails to flag people and warn them to stop what they were doing. They have a system in place that flags this.

The whole thing I find the most bizarre is the spirit of the rule seems to be “Don’t play fair, don’t share.”

It’s completely fine to sell BoP items for gold. But it’s against the spirit of the social contact and multiplayer game to share that gold with contributing parties.

Honestly feels like a gold seller made this policy and somehow got it approved in the development room.

The classic team are not known for thinking things through before they enact changes. Policy or otherwise.

Honestly I think they wanted to ban gdkp and when navigating the loopholes people were going through they had to let some through.

Like if they allowed the distribution of gold, people would just be doing gdkp under a different name. If they allow it to be sold to one person then they aren’t stepping on the toes of people selling carries (because that happens), so the rules are now in this weird limbo where it kinda doesn’t make much sense.

Also if they don’t allow distribution then everyone else in the raid is going to be upset that the one person got the gold which will be a sort of peer pressure to not do it.

so, you mean the dollar store gdkp? no.

Asmon was banned for suspected RMT behavior once in his classic tries in 2019. Mid stream.

He was mass reported in the totally not automated system in classic at the time.

It was overturned. He did not RMT. The dude carrying him in pvp maybe was the suspected one or some crap. Dudes report bombed him, banned.

I am not saying the streamer wasn’t banned. But we’d need to see the source as to what was the reported offence if so. Asmon was banned on false reporting, probably not the first dude ever to have that happen. Its just he had the clout back then to get that overturned fast as hell.

Or seeing how what they created is bypassed.

They said lets do anti-boost/farm stuff again.

that will show them. And the work around is….2 mages aoe spamming. Again. They tried that new combat taging active recently.

A mage on water break got no reward. 2 bot mages spamming AOE? They will always have active combat tags from the AOE spam.

They said If we remove gdkp….all is well. Retail doesn’t even have gdkp, since it has no master loot even. Carries and gear for gold still happen. Group loot with rules and game class/spec games and payments aren’t always for gear. its for better rolls on gears.

3 dudes carried, 22 dudes won’t roll. 3 carries paid for a 1/3 chance. Better than 1/25 lol.
