Secret Tech broken?

Ever since 10.1 , sometimes my secret tech only hits once instead of 3 times. Anyone else having this issue ?

Yeah, def. bugged or nerfed, secret tech doing 4% overall. Before 10.1 it would always be 25-30% of overall and my top damaging ability.

Its not useless. It still does its damage, details just isnt properly recording/tracking it.

This was a problem since prepatch. Turning on ACL will have 2 entries for the soul fragments but Details didn’t pick them up as the player’s pets. Recount correctly parsed them though.

You can find them by enabling the combat log and then reviewing the log file created. The combat log in game doesn’t pick them up either, if I recall.

No, its not details. Secret tech’s initial hit is hitting for 70% less damage and the clones do zero damage. Not based off details just in game damage to targets. Log into game go to target dummy or mobs in world watch numbers your s.t. hits for and the enemy health. It’s completely broken.

Secret Technique damage is unreliable or bugged – clones aren’t always registering?? They’re obviously in the advanced log, but the Blizzard Combat Log only displays the event for you. Other parsers are not updated to pick up on the nuance and it doesn’t seem to class the souls as “yours” or pets. A few more hours of testing… It seems that this ability cannot crit. Go up to a mob with over 100k hp. get full combo points beforehand. Press st and see what happens. I’m getting no more than 70k hits and 30k cleaves to additional targets , and the mob/mobs take exactly that much damage (clones do no damage to main target or any additional mobs). The ability is essentially doing 70% less damage and clones don’t even work. Other strange thing is modifiers don’t seem to be buffing it (dance, symbols, danse stacks, crit modifier etc.)

There is nothing to review, that’s the damage it says it’s doing and that’s the damage that was done to the mobs hp.

It’s displaying the damage. I almost wonder if this is a type of filtered event that the damage log isn’t picking up.

I don’t see any direct references to the summons and the owner guid; however, since I am seeing yellow damage from them (sporadic), I’m under the impression they’re linked somewhere.

Akaari’s Soul is the “summon”. Its not properly tracked but the damage is being done, and the latest details update will show it.

Thanks—sorry, I probably should’ve said something like “direct linkage” since the souls are definitely from my skill usage.

I was searching for lines that contained both my player guid and the soul guid and I could not locate. That’s what I meant by direct reference — I couldn’t locate a map between the two entities.

Could probably locate on event params, but that seems like a lot more work and all I was trying to show was that they were in fact doing damage. I assume there is a linkage since I did get yellow numbers from clone damage, and while I’m no addon dev, it looked solvable. Good to hear it’s being addressed.
