lol ‘effinsoldier’ is such a tryhard character name. gives big camo bedspread energy
Israel is part of America empire and we need eyes on middle east we do need them as Israel need us.
Our government only cares about is power, they don’t care if we suffer so long they maintain power.
Man, you are full of hate especially attacking person who everyone know whos has learning disabilities. I guess that tolerance left for ya.
this is not an excuse for the quality of your political opinions. it did occasionally make them more difficult to understand. i didn’t know you had a learning disability (which, same btw) but i don’t really feel poorly for digging into you. it’s not your disability which is so weird and gross.
I don’t see him as a conman because he was president for four years and we didn’t go into WW3 or have the market crash and burn. Matter of fact, I thought the economy was fine.
The only thing I wasn’t happy with was the gov shutdown but it’s hard to tell if that was Pelosi or his fault.
update: gov. dewine (r) has reported at least 33 schools and colleges in the springfield area have had to close due to anti-immigrant bomb threats, and at least one (republican) business owners has received death threats due to his vocal support for his immigrant workers. all because of trump’s lies
Very uneventful VP debate, doubt this will shift anyone’s opinion. Vance spent the debate trying to be as reasonable and polite as possible, which would be fine if it wasnt for whose running mate he was. Walz flubbed a couple answers and slam dunked some others. Overall its probably just going to be a wash in polling.
JD Vance won that debate for sure, but I do agree that didn’t change people’s opinion. but facepalm moment for Walz when he said this “I’ve become friends with school shooters”. If she chose Josh shapiro as her vp, she would have a better position to win the white house.
Problem with Harris right now is the union strike that is happening right now. There’s a leak auto that her campaign staff said she down in Mich and she CANNOT afford to lost Mich. Joe Biden can invoke Taft-Hartley to stop the strike, problem with that is he won’t do that and that going to be a nightmare for Harris.
I dont even think you could go that far, it was mostly just a pretty reasonable debate between two people who let each other talk, made their points, defended their points, said good night, and went home.
It was the most boring, well-mannered debate we’ve had in literal years. Neither of them really landed a solid hit on the other, and even the opinion polling afterward showed that audiences pretty much across the board liked both of them more at the end of the debate than they did going into it. I dont even know if thats ever happened before for a VP or Presidential debate. It was certainly ones of the debates of all time.
Saying that one of them ‘won’ is really a stretch. At best I’d say they both won, because they both came out of it looking very knowledgeable, professional, and overall pretty damn good, and I never thought I’d say that about Vance.
lot network included CNN did say JD won that debate. but yea this one of best debate that we had in long time. that being said there’s a new headache for Biden/Harris administration. they were able hold off the union strike but…FEMA ran out of money they spend their funding to house illegal immigrants. Those who are effected by the Hurricane Helene, if edible, they only get $750 which is worth nothing. I don’t see how Harris is going pick up NC with this scandal.
I dont care what the pundits say, I care what the voters think. The approval rating of both Vance and Walz got like a 20+% bump immediately after the debate ended. Neutral viewers who were polled afterward were generally split on who won, and many were still undecided. This was quite literally a “Oh well I guess they both did really good” debate by every observable metric.
They did not spend all their funding to house illegals. That’s just a lie. Again. The Shelter Services Program is completely separate from the Disaster Relief Fund.
What they did do is run out of money because the Republicans in charge of the FEMA budget slashed it, because Republicans apparently dont think disaster relief agencies deserve to be funded enough to be able to manage relief for disasters. Why did Matt Gaetz, a Republican Congressman from Florida, the most hurricane-prone state in the country, vote against additional funding days before Helene landed?
Fortunately, emergency funding negotiations are already underway and are likely to be done in a couple days.
Where is this said? I can’t find it in any article I’m reading about this debacle.
I don’t see this either. Here’s his voting record so maybe I missed it? The only thing I see he did that might be related to the hurricane was vote against extending some sort of Flood Insurance act.
This was in the news a lot when they cut FEMA funding a while back, but its harder to find it now because pretty much every article is about the current FEMA funding thing as opposed to the FEMA funding debate from back then. Spent about a half hour looking for it but search engines are all AI slop now so its impossible to find anything that isnt recent news. I’ll try to find it later.
It was H.R. 9747. Here’s the bill itself if you want to read it. Remove the parentheses from the following links:
https(:)//docs(.)house(.)gov/billsthisweek/20240923/CR1FY25_xml%20-%20FINAL%20FOR%20INTRODUCTION.pdf
As for the votes:

Control-F Gaetz to find his vote, it was Nay.
Also, a few more interesting Nay votes from Republicans:
Former Florida Governor and currently Florida Senator, Rick Scott
Daniel Webster, Florida
Michael Waltz, Florida
Anna Paulina Luna, Florida
Laurel Lee, Florida
Byron Donalds, Florida
Kat Cammack, Florida
Gus Bilirakis, Florida
Aaron Bean, Florida
Dan Bishop, North Carolina
Andrew Clyde, Georgia
Mike Collins, Georgia
Richard McCormick, Georgia
And of course, last and always least, Marjorie Taylor Greene, of Georgia.
Every single Democrat voted in favor of increasing FEMA funding.
Republicans voted against funding FEMA’s disaster relief fund when Helene was DAYS from making landfall IN THEIR STATES, and now they want to blame Democrats for it. Marjorie Taylor Greene was on twitter two days ago claiming that ‘they’ can control the weather and implying the hurricane was somehow sent on purpose.

Your own elected officials are voting against disaster relief and intentionally lying to you to make it look like its the fault of the Democrats. This is the kind of leadership you can expect from them under a Republican-led administration.
If you want to see what kind of disaster relief you can expect from a future Trump presidency, feel free to look up what Trump did (or rather DIDNT do) during the 2019 California wildfire crisis and during the Puerto Rican Hurricane Maria disaster in 2017.
Yeah that’s what I was talking about when I mentioned flood insurance. This was in the bill:
- several public health programs,
- various programs and authorities related to veterans,
- the National Flood Insurance Program,
- the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program,
- the Food for Peace program,
- the authorities of the U.S. Parole Commission,
- the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) National Cybersecurity Protection System,
- authorities for DHS and the Department of Justice to take certain actions to mitigate a credible threat from an unmanned aircraft system,
- several Department of Agriculture programs and authorities,
- the Department of Defense’s authority to use funds for certain military construction projects, and
- authorities for sanctions related to human rights abuses in Hong Kong.
I went to the text version of 9747 and control+f “FEMA” and got nothing.
Mayorkas had came out other day warns that FEMA doesn’t have enough funding and there’s another Hurricane forming that will hit FL hard. there’s lot of angry people who are effected by this storm and they 're only getting help from other resident and private organization. this is pretty much Biden’s Katrina.
Oh but they did.
trump was behind in the polls at the time of that post. guess i overestimated the american electorate. but thanks for letting me know i’ve been living in your head, bud
No, not you, just this thread.
And I thought you had me on ignore:
I knew it was impossible for you to let me go. I’m flattered and all but I’m also married.
i get notified when people post in the thread, and i can open blocked messages. hope these obvious facts are a sufficient ego check.
The funny thing is, I do know how ignore works and I use it often. I use this option because I don’t want to see what a certain person says. Sure, I get notifications when they bump a thread but once I see it’s someone I have on ignore, I just move on. I don’t open the posts because that defeats the purpose of ignore.
Which is why I’m right that you don’t have me on ignore. You can’t ignore me and that’s hilarious.
Now quick, open my “ignored” posts to tell me again how I’m not worth your time
