Maybe itâs actually viable to try out Lone Wolf + Sniper Training + Choice of Shot, respec and play differently. I know I will

If it applied to autos then maybe.
Even then lone wolf is worse than Aspect of the lion, even with another aspect in the raid.
I dont need to try something to know it wont work when the baseline math doesnt add up.
Lets say hunter pet does 50% of damage. Beast is now 20%, so a flat 10% increase in damage. None of those runes come even close to matching a flat 10% increase.

Doesnât it apply to all shot abilities as noted in the text? That would mean it should also include Arcane Shot (lul i know), Chimera, Explosive, and Aimed.
You cannot solve the problem at the level of the bot. You attack the market, not the bot.
Bots are infinite, quite clearly. They will always exist while the market is healthy.
Chimera, explosive, and beast share the same slot so you are not taking chimera/explosive. None of them are even close to a 10% damage increase, also they use mana so its often a DPS loss to use them if the fight lasts over a minute.
Aimed should only be used if you have 1 of the 2 crossbows, everything else is too fast. Even then you now have to spec out of the QOL from BM to get it.

It wonât be viable because you have to give up 20% worth of stats and your pet to run lone wolf. Trash rune that needs to be moved to hands and compete with BM rune instead of competing with Aspect of the Lion.

I saw a post that suggested gold buying only incurs a two week ban. Thinking Blizzard will go from that to full perma is laughable, especially when Blizzard wants buyers - they just want the buyers buying direct from Blizzard.
In a certain sense, one might even suggest, although I donât think they are this crafty, that allowing bots to flourish makes the token more palatable as a countermeasure.
I donât think it is realistic for them to do it, but it is what should be done.
Lone Wolf increases all damage by 15% â Thatâs a flat damage boost.
The patch notes state mana cost of the Rune abilities were reduced by 50%, thatâs pretty cool. Chimera restores mana vs casters, so thatâs pretty cool too.
Just swap which shot rune you want to use depending on the encounter/content. It may sound weird for pure DPS classes, but you could consider having multiple pieces of gear slotted with different runes and equip swap out of combat as needed with something like Item Rack.
Lone wolf actually reads:
Reduces all your stats by 20%. Reduces your damage by 50%. Reduces all class utility. Gain +5 weapon damage.
Itâs obvious you donât play or understand the game at even an elementary level.

Obviously this looks at PvP and discounts PvE entirely which is disappointing. Instead of tuning hunters, why not look at tuning other classes? I guess Blizz wants Rogues and Warriors only.
Marksman needs some more buffs before doing pet nerfs. Chimera shot was 125% before the 85% nerf and still was just ok.

The only use I see for Lone Wolf in its current incarnation is those Rhokâdelar demons that forbid you from using a pet.
