is there a list of features being compiled somewhere? or is this a “it would be cool to re-live my childhood, but with bigger explosions and darker dungeons” ?
has the community actually said what they want? or just want they want the title to be? because it seems so far the only thing the community came up with is the title. They want it called “World of Warcraft - Classic Plus”.
@mr Herpington, can you describe day number 75 of your play loop in this Classic Plus? it’s a Saturday and you have no other chores that day. take me through your in-game activity loop you will perform today.
I’m not going to trash on the devs. It still has been a fun experience. PVP and faction balance is in a terrible state and they need to be aware of that.
No TBC and WotLK are horrible and should have never seen the light of day again.
Had the community not voted for these disaster games, there could be a real Classic Plus now.
The closest thing that i have seen to a “Classic Plus” is the Turtle WoW private server, and i hate to admit that. Even that has MAJOR issues, like cross faction gameplay which naturally goes against the spirit of vanilla, but the new zones and races and dungeons are much more sensible and respectful of the lore than anything Blizzard did after vanilla wow.
Don’t rework the leveling exp, classic plus would start off where classic ended.
SoD basically reworked every class, instead I would have liked them to stay the same except couple of new a abilities (that are on par with classic abilities) per class, open up some of the unused zones for level 60 activities, some completely new raids (not rehashed), new bg’s stuff like that. it doesn’t take a genius to have an idea of what classic plus would be. SoD is just crap, every bit of content has been recycled content, Runes are completely broken and don’t get me started on incursions.
Runes are a bad design choice and resulted in the mess we are in now. Truth is, some classes/specs from vanilla didn’t need any extra abilities/buffs while others basically needed an overhaul. But since everyone needs to have a mandatory 24 runes, you end up having to nerf the damage every week because of how stupid it’s getting.
They took wrath/Cata abilities, lazily slapped them over a vanilla framework and called it a day. What vanilla needed was changes to talent trees and maybe one or two abilities for some hybrid specs that were too far behind to bring them closer to the meta.
The idea of sod is very good and it echos among classic wow players that’s why it was a big hit in the community. But sadly it has been implemented poorly. And devs have no clue about what wow is
