Season has become boring

Hi everyone.

I’ll preface this to explain I have mostly enjoyed primarily PvP in wow for a long time, I’ve done some mythic raiding and keys, but the don’t keep my interest for long compared to PvP. 3s has been a really interesting game mode for a long time… until now.

I usually queue with friends and get gladiator most seasons (all that ive tried except one), so I’m not exactly missing out on rewards.

This season has just been a big disappointment in communication and tuning. The meta has been stale for months with obvious outliers.

MM hunters - too much reliable and easily executable burst damage.

Unholy DK - frenzy seems a bit over the top, but the real problem is team AMS. This is so powerful it can easily shut down many win conditions.

Fire Mage - combustion CDR creates too many kill windows too often when in the hands of a good mage. Very hard to punish mages when placed correctly.

Assa rogue - Garrote silence needs to be once per stealth/vanish, or coast more resources or something. It’s far too oppressive.

RShaman - mana should never work this way.

RDruid - needed serious throughout buffs, and a change form relying on ancient of lore.

Ret - still oppressive with the amount of defensive tools they have.

Destro - blackened soul being top damage, along with very fast, small, chaos bolts feels like a bad design choice. Should focussed on slower, larger bolts.

obviously most of this will change drastically in a few weeks with midnight. But these feel like the most obvious changes, that almost anyone playing PvP can recognise. I’m sure that the community would love to hear more communication more often, even without tuning. But please, more tuning in the future!

are things actually changing drastically in Midnight? seems like nearly the same thing but with 6 second interrupts

Honestly the most encouraging thing is that it’s a new expac so they won’t abandon it in terms of bug fixes and tuning until at least mid-late patch. :dracthyr_crylaugh:

yeah I guess that’s true, can’t wait for the huge prot buffs

Pretty much agree with everything you’ve said. Something should have been done at half way through the season…

Agreed, big step backwards from Prized (one of the better seasons as of late imo).

I love all the carefully thought out criticism for the specs and when you get to Rshams you’re like slaps nose “No!”

The amount of silences assassination has, exceeds a rational limit

They are using balance tuning as a selling point for the expansion. “Buy the expansion, MM hunters and Destro locks aren’t S++ tier anymore!” Bunch of scumbags.

This right here.

How do we go from Prized- the best season I’ve ever played, to this awful slop where some specs are just 10% stronger than everything else.

This xpac has been complete trash, garrote silence spam, dks, mm hunters, void weavers… And midnight ain’t going to be even better. The same song and dance every xpac we expect things to get better and be saved but it just gets worse. Not to mention ever since precog the insane amount of anti kick and kick bots in the game now.

wow has become boring altogether , might skip a season or two and come back at a later date

Skill issue

SP being B tier also has contributed to this season being buns.

I usually avoid and discourage doom posting but honestly this season was the first season this expac that i just stopped playing mid season.

Fair comment, I should go into more detail: rsham is naturally a good healer in damp dye to its mastery, so having near infinite mana means they can very consistently reach that advantageous position. I also think grounding and shear is exceedingly strong into casters, and weak into melee - id prefer they had a more balanced toolkit along with mana similar to other healers.

I was just making a funny, I think we all understand that Shamans shouldn’t be sitting at 100% mana throughout the entire arena.

It is crazy how fast things can change, right? I was surprised that I enjoyed last season, had fun logging in for most of the season.

We also had outliers like Slicing Winds at season start, execute during the season, etc. But as the whole package, I think we had a lot of viable comps with no extreme outliers.

Then we got this season where I stopped playing my main and focused onto an alt, because I got every single time completely frustrated and mad, when I played that useless and unfun spec. Even most mates asked me basically on a daily base if I don’t want to reroll, preferable to a Rogue (Assa), DH or MM…

Ya, same. I saw how bad the mount was and was completely uninterested, but ended up having a blast!!!

Ya for sure, but this ALWAYS happens every season. Also, what’s important is that they nerfed the outliers with months to spare at the end of the season so everyone had time to play and grind in the new meta. This season we got:

Fw, survival, and boomy got shot in the head at the start of this season (nerfing fw damage by 50%, both boomy hero trees by 50%, and survival main burst damage by 25%)…

but then they love tapped nerfed mm and ret (15% nerf to ret hero trees and a nerf to black arrow only???) And voidweaver was a thing for a month and a half…

then they FINALLY took down voidweaver, but left mm, firemage, uhdk, assa etc as absolute monsters.

We had three total balance patches across months and months and never meaningfully targeted anything when it actually mattered.
