??? I’m not sure you understand what I mean by retail class design or what I’m saying. You can easily have a new unique ret pally that feels more closer to classic than retail’s class design. Maybe what I wrote wasn’t well worded. From last I’ve played in bfa and legion, it’s builder/spender mostly on all classes - low damage building abilities for big damage spender abilities with some variation of course. Wrath paladin is not really the most interesting design either many disliked how it stripped away the identity of classic/tbc ret paladin by how they changed seals and judgments, it’s just stronger than tbc somewhat if seal twist did not exist.
When I said unique I mean new and also being true to classic. Something more classic would not be making ret pally high APM in melee strikes, adding another resource like holy power or like wrath ret pally, even though having 2 of CS/DS is fine. Maybe the best version of dps requiring going through 3 seals during your rotation like if crusader auto attacks debuffed your target for increased SoC damage, a reason to switch between auras midfight, and blessings that aren’t only long duration buffs. Idk we’re talking about an auto attack class that relied on self buffing and being a supportive class. It should still retain some of that identity
