Screw Dinars

No they just need to incorporate Dinars into the base game so we never again face this issue of “Where’s my Dinar?” or “Will they bring Dinars back?”. It’s dumb that after 20 years they are still this reluctant to change their precious RNG system and now dilly dally while they try and find ways to not give us a Dinar system.

I agree 100%.

Dinars or any form of deterministic gearing NEEDS to become a staple of EVERY season

We don’t need Dinars. We need a permanent deterministic gearing system.

Just give players a currency for completing content and fill a vendor with the gear. Set a weekly cap on currency acquisition. Adjust the currency acquisition rate and gear costs to be whatever rate of deterministic gearing is deemed acceptable - 1 piece of gear a week, I don’t care.

Then reset the currency at the start of a new season.

They can keep the rarest items off the vendor for the first half of the season (or 4 weeks or whatever) if they want.

Permanent catch up gear/bad luck protection without RNG.

Or just like, you know, bring back the vendors like from TBC/Wrath and put the trinkets on the vendor for Gilded crests, a trinket could start at something like 100 gilded?

The only reason they don’t do this is because they are complete 100% control freaks and want every single aspect of every single thing to be under lock down, it’s neurosis, it’s not normal.

Shopping list gearing tends to be pretty boring.

And the badge vendors in those older games tended to give fairly bad loot relative to what was available from the actual end game content.

We have one: crafted gear. With regard to raid gear, what we need is a greatly increased number of items to drop, to bring raiding on par with the game’s more modern systems.

(And for the “very rare” drops to go away.)

P.S. Regular reminder that they REDUCED the amount of loot that drops in raids, in Shadowlands. It’s not even at the point it USED to be at.

I feel like “very rare” drops have been a staple forever, they just didn’t advertise it in the dungeon journal.

As way back as chasing ToEP and such in MC.

But people have access to these things provided they actually take the time to get them. It’s already fair. It’s so tiring hearing people whine and complain about fairness when fairness really just means “give me everything without having to put any of the work in”.

Yeh but after 20 years of mostly RNG it’s kind of garbage also to keep doing RNG stuff when you can go literal hundreds of runs in a single dungeon and get nothing from it.

As an example in DFC there is a mount and a neck piece from the same dungeon, so why not spam that one for a double chance. I have done 63 runs so far and seen neither the mount or neck piece.

No this is just what you think.

When we make these kinds of posts what we mean is this:

And if you thought about it for 2 seconds you would realise that still needs effort.

Solved by crafted gear.

Not entirely.

Can’t catalyst crafted gear and can only craft one trinket.

And pieces you can stuff in the catalyst box can come from anywhere and are readily acquired.

If your problem is that you can’t win rolls because you’re deliberately grouping with people who are doing whatever they can to make sure you don’t get gear… that’s not an issue with gearing, that’s an issue with your bad choices in teammates.

Until you want hero or myth pieces, then you currently must do equivalent dungeons or raids. Which is the entire point of my post, just embed the dinar system into the base game to ensure we can all get to an end game iLVL by the end of the patch without having to run hundreds of dungeons and dozens of raids with the potential of getting nothing.

I’ve ran over 60 DFC dungeons and dozens of others, cleared raid a few times and still never seen the neck piece drop.

RNG is still RNG. You could run with people who could potentially help you, but RNG is just RNG and sometimes gear does not drop and there is nothing, absolutely nothing you can do to change that.

If you want something to catalyse, dungeons and raids.
If you want some of the better trinkets, dungeons and raids.
If RNG does not work in your favour? Too bad.

Let’s quash progression time even shorter so players can gear their alts in a matter of days instead of over the course of a patch. Content droughts are a myth.

If you simply want to outgear content and reduce/remove the challenges, you can just become an AoTC guild.

Same results, no extra effort on anyones end. Win/win

So, hunting 1 specific neckless (not even just a neckless, or a neckless with the same stats just not in the same proportion, likely like a 0.3% overall dps gain) and not getting it despite the game overall showering massive loot and crafting being extremely powerful deterministic gear?

So here’s the thing. If you make a rare and powerful item, but then guarantee everyone will have it, you thus have to tune and balance everyone around the expectation that they have said item. This is bad for people who don’t have it yet, and it’s bad going into the next season because you’ll going to have to power creep that item beyond just ilvl to make people want to replace it.
TLDR: If you can guarantee anyone can have any item they want every season, then you have to make every item bland or unimpactful.

I’d be fine if this is extremely limited, like one charge when you hit 2k/2500 M+ rating.

Also only introduce it after world first or top 10 is done, or something.

Dinars better buy me a drink first. And make it a double.

You’re late to the party, that happened when M+ was added at the start of Legion.
