Actually you can kill the hunter while its main source of damage is sheeped. Can’t do the same with other classes.
You can pressure casters so they can’t use their highest dps spells, only instants. We can go around in circles.
If you are consistently losing to hunters it’s a skill issue. Hunters have 2 of the most glaring weaknesses in PvP: Dead zone, and being not very good with a dead or CC’d pet.
Blizzard should not be balancing around people’s skill issues. The great PvPers in this game aren’t saying hunters still need to be nerfed, they’re dealing with them just fine now.

Obviously. Every class has strengths and weakness that shift depending on duels, open world pvp or battlegrounds. Hunters were really good in warsong.
Exactly, just like mages are busted right now in duels with living flame regen living bomb frost build, but they’re not that great in WSG. Some things just work well in certain parts of the game. Doesn’t mean we need to nerf stuff every single time something strong emerges.
I think pets are getting punished because by metrics are performing better than entire classes/specs. Balance in SoD is really bad and hopefully will be better next bracket.
Other classes are performing as good or better than hunter with pet, though, so it’s a complicated mess. Those classes aren’t being touched negatively, it’s just hunters. Weird situation all around, although it’s mostly centered around PvP, but what they do change also effects PvE.

They’d have to break the game to make casters balanced to physical. Or buff them immensely now and nerf next phase. They will probably nerf the other top classes if the scaling brings them completely off balance. Might happen with warriors, maybe rogues.
My question is, why is that not a problem for you? Is it “fun” for you for your pet to do everything? Also lose the hyperbole, show me a single good hunter parse where the hunter literally does nothing but watch his pet? I am referring to this claim that the hunter does “ZERO” damage
Personally if I was a hunter I would love to have pets nerfed and self buffed. But I guess it makes ppl think they are skilled if their pet gets a kill for them or something…
I’ve been asking for this forever.
If you’re going to nerf pets damage, fine.
Find a way to scale the damage to the hunter or give us abilities to press.
IF you can’t, then leave the pets alone until we find a solution.
You guy’s don’t want to meet in the middle.
You guys want to nerf pets now and fix hunters later…

Dead within a fear cast because of braindead outdated knock back mechanisms. Meta doesn’t even get fear.
This! Holy baby jesus this. Every other class can either tank heal or all THREE! Hunters can ONLY dps. Why shouldn’t they be top or near top dps?
So you want to be able to do everything and be top DPS?
Cakes in these MMO’s are not made equal. When are people going to figure that out? In order for hunter to remain competitive they need the damage. They bring NOTHING else other than the aura.

What part of hunter skills do a combined 5 dps is difficult to understand? You sheep the pet the hunter is a target dummy.
Can’t be found because none of the hunter’s skills scale with attack power. It’s all spell power based. Hunter abilities do 5 dps right now. That’s all of them combined over the course of a fight. They had explosive shot, that got a 75% nerf. They had Chimera shot, that now does damage equal to arcane shot, 1 dps. They could’ve had lone wolf, but that causes you to lose your only source of dps, the pet, and lion. It’s a massive damage decrease to take.
stop crying, its fixed and balanced now, you gonna cry at phase 2 when people are full BM talents? hunters have a whole spec based off the pet doing most of the hunters damage, learn to CC, oh when phase 2 hits and you cant CC the pet, time to make more forum posts about nerfing hunters!
