Easy; Blizzard says they are going to take the servers down for maintenance starting a certain time, wave their magic wands, and POOF scheduled maintenance!
Firstly, the servers have been offline longer than thirteen hours before but you’re not old enough to have been there. And secondly, there’s still issues that need fixing:
Unless, of course, you’d rather complain about those issues while playing instead of waiting an hour or two for Blizzard to work on them… But I jest, you obviously just want to complain about anything and everything that ruffles your delicate little feathers.

The patch for Sunwell was 74ish hours. I wasn’t playing for WoD but I understand that was another ugly one.

If you think that was the longest offline period, lol. Cataclysm had a 16 hour maintenance for its prepatch. And while WOD didn’t have as lengthy of a maintenance period, the game was completely unplayable for over a week. There is going to be daily maintenance for awhile, there are a lot of problems to iron out.

Right? 14 hours is nothing. In vanilla we had Alterac Valley games that lasted longer than 14 hours.
Get used to it or go play another game. Not every content patch is going to be perfect ready to play thing. Scripting breaks, visuals get skewed mechanics of dungeons get mixed up. The ‘maintenance’ you’re whining about is to fix the issues occurring right now. Get over it or go elsewhere.

Are they doing maintenance now? I was waiting to log in again since my action bars kept disappearing.
I am still probably older than you anyway, but I think he means game years , not your age.
I wish they would not take the beta servers down at the same time.
they need to take the server offline again this was a mess unfort…tried to do a raid not all of them were awakened?.. my mouse was freaking out… for no reason…
the real only change today was everything goes to account wide and teh warband bank, which did not even work… the real event doesnt even go live untill july 30th…
just please let them get it done NOW so we’re not having down time every day for a week lol

Well, day 1 vanilla, he might be older…he could have been a beta tester I guess…
I’d be more surprised if there was not a follow-up maint or two after a troubled deployment.
I can’t help it…the brain gets fuzzy sometimes… but we do live in an age of hyperbole…
