No I’m 100% serious lol. I have never had a bug that has prevented me from playing the game

As being an IT engineer myself I completely understand the concept and need for maintenance. My company does this all the time; however, we have redundancy in place to where users never know anything ever happens. This includes taking servers out of rotation, reboots, upgrades etc… A lot of the responses will quote price and technology, but blizzard makes quadruple what my employer makes, and the infrastructure closely resembles what Blizzard has.

Maybe they’ll FINALLY fix auto loot only working 50% of the time?
Can we just pin that “the maintenance within” thread wherever it is… so we can just easily keep track of all this maintenance…

This is why your game requires 4-8 hours of “maintenance” per week.
Finished my daily cloth farm with a minute to spare, but got a bit greedy and tried to unravel my haul … disconnected.
(it’s a superstition left over from bad experiences with corrupted save game files in old games that I shouldn’t ever stay logged in all the way to server down)
You could have just looked at your game launcher, which has said there would be scheduled maintenance this morning since at least mid-day yesterday.
It scares me as well.
This maintenance was probably done by an underpaid, overworked skeleton crew of devs who don’t want WoW to fail, and I truly feel bad for them getting mistreated by their greedy handlers who just want to rake in the money by pushing out unfinished forever beta products and creating a stressful work environment by not properly staffing their company. Blizzard is crappy to their devs and only wants to vaccum up as much profits as possible out of WoW’s prestige that has an inevitable end to it’s game life cycle. The end is near my friends. GGs.
