I hear you. Honestly, this is a system that did not take ‘fun’ into consideration. What they did take into consideration was creating a system that will keep us grinding and subbed for as long as possible and disguise it as a crafting ‘end game’.
They took the old system, chucked quality, talents and then currencies on them and then blatantly time gated it. Feels like a slap in the face

The important thing to remember in all of this is green profession gear is all you really need.

It’s a mess whether you were there or not. Professions were fine as they were.
The Legion glow up was good enough.
The only really kinda good new thing introduced was recrafting.
We did not need reagent/item ranks, nor the convoluted, expansion long, KP system.

As long as the sporebits remain dead. I’m fine with it. Constantly respawning annoyances on the other hand, not so much.
The main issue with acuity is that it is used for recrafts and fishing/cooking items. Those can’t generate acuity, so it doesn’t make sense for them to require it either. I’m hopeful that Blizzard will remove acuity cost on recrafts and make it profession-specific like knowledge points are next expansion, that would eliminate the profession shuffle cheese and focus on acuity as a resource for advancing your professions, which is its main purpose since it is no longer used for insight to make R5s

Mate, professions were just there for the occasional pet/toy/mount and engineering wormholes. There was no gear worth using and no meaningful interaction with them. They’re way better now

The KP system only really lasts 1 tier.

They could have done the exact same thing WITHOUT system changes.

Took me the whole of DF to finally finish it.
Maybe it works for guild drones, for the solo player, it was a massive downgrade.

No, they couldn’t have done anything approaching the improved profession system without new systems
I disagree. Nothing further to add.

You think that they could make worthwhile gear progression that is viable throughout all content levels and interacts with the crafting system, while also allowing for crafters to have growth other than straight numerical increase and allow for BoP pieces to be commissioned without system changes? Literally how?
Seeing it all spelled out, it really strikes how large an exploit the profession-shuffling thing really is.
Also, it reinforces how main lever they have for distributing AA, work order rewards, completely bypass double-gatherers.
I generally like the system and the idea of it being a little gated, but there are some real flaws here.

By the second week of tier 2, I was done only logging in for profession weekly quests.
Just because you didn’t finish your weekly objectives doesn’t mean it takes all expansion.
We just need Thomas Bright back.

This AA system is going to make it difficult for people to find crafter tso make their stuff. If you have patterns that cost AA, what are you going to do - spend the AA on the patterns or keep it to use to make things for yourself?
And its just dribbled out at a stupidly low rate. It drives me nuts.

or…put it in the store for rl monies
We don’t need anything other than green profession gear. Sure the blue and purple profession equipment is nice but it just relaxes the mat quality restrictions a bit .
I did weekly quests the whole time I was in DF. Took a 6 month break. Finished literally on the week on TWW release.
It was 3 KP per week, it was not much.

It was a lot more than 3 available per week.
