Scale the world and the new invasion up to 424 ilvl or the game will die

The whole point of the world is to funnel people into instanced content, wherein the true PvP/PvE challenges lie (outside of pet-battles and dragonriding ofc, but even those have their own instanced stuff).

I’d love higher ilvl gear from the world, but there comes a point where you’ve gotta move on from World Quests as upgrades, only really using the “world” outside for professions and renown quests, not for the gear itself.

PvP gear? Farm bloody tokens in the world (kill players/assassins, collect war crates), then honor and conquest. The honor gear is actually better than the bloody tokens gear, when fully upgraded, UNTIL you do the new quests that just came out which award trophies. These trophies come from instanced PvP content, and dailies/weekies, and are used to UPGRADE the primal/bloody token gear into something better than the honor gear can provide, like 424 iLvL, exactly as you describe. Honor gear only goes to 411, and 366 in the overworld.

PvE gear? This is even simpler- Do normals/heroics to learn the dungeons, and then jump into Mythic 0, and onward to Mythic 1-6+ and higher, earning better gear the higher you go. This gearing path is much more straightforward. Mythic 0 gear starts and 372 and only goes up from there- already better than the 366 PvP gear you can get, at least in the overworld.

Raiding? Well, that just opened, and I’d recommend probaby being 355-60+ to start, but yeah, Normal drops 389, and the final boss drops 398. It’s very new, so don’t expect to get that gear right away, until people learn the raid first. Maybe you’ll get lucky with your vault, at least trying to do the raid.

Also, don’t forget your world boss, kill it and get some raid-equal gear or better. World Quest gear, and I assume world boss gear, scales to be slightly higher than your iLvL, up to a certain point.

I miss the 10k my old main had :frowning:

It’s not a bad troll post – at least it’s reasonably well written, I’ll give it that == maybe 4/10.

The substance isn’t worth addressing, of course, but it seems to have snagged a few of you, which means it was a successful troll.

You do understand that people who do end game content are not 1% right?

Technically LFR is end game content… Which would push the player base into the majority of active players whom log in monthly.

If you want to exclude it you’re still looking at a 3rdish

I know it’s not sexy to admit these things… But you’re not some super majority that you think you are.

Now if you count inactive subscriptions… Technically they are not even players

Low post count from an abandoned alt?

Checks out.

it is…it’s also a multi-player game…
it is what you make of it…

i’d like to see a gear shop in-game…
where i could purchase mythic raid
gear…
because i want it and i don’t to put up
people’s absurd bs…
it’s not “pay-to-win”…because i’m not
playing against anyone.

If someone’s gonna quit because they don’t get max gear for free then this isn’t the game for them. I think Skyrim 23 is on discount.

game wont die.
what

Where does it say that solo players need to be the priority, in a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE role playing game? You don’t need max iLvl gear for open world content, the content is scaled around people having very low iLvls. If open world content rewarded the same iLvl as Mythic raiding/M+ vaults, then there wouldn’t really be any incentive left to do them (even though no serious players actually do them for the gear, since only casuals play with gear as their end-game, and a goal to reach, whereas good players only use gear as a crutch to beat content. If you could enter Mythic raids/m+ in full 424 iLvl gear, you’d crush it and there’d be no challenge left in the game).

You’re leaving out a key element in your post, even though you mentioned it, which is character progression. Where is the progression in doing open world content, then doing open world content, and finally doing open world content, while your iLvl goes from 370 to 424? There’s no progression there, except an artificial progression in iLvl which wasn’t earned or required for the content. Without meaningful progression to gear up your character, the gear means nothing anymore. Besides, if everyone was running around in 424 gear, Blizzard would scale the open world around that fact, and mobs would actually die slower as a result. This would lead to further skill gaps, as good players can manage without the gear, and utilize the gear much better, whereas worse players would struggle in the open world.

So no, you don’t need Mythic gear if you’re not doing anything that rewards, or requires said gear.

3/10 satire, a bit too banal.

At least he didn’t mention Asmongold as the Messiah or something.

no, 500 or the game will die.

I don’t take it super seriously. Well, the actual amount. I very lightly celebrate the number when it’s like “1000/2000/3000” etc. because it’s just a nice clean number and it makes my OCD happy. It’s only like that for a few minutes though, until I post again, lol. All I really care about is having that dang TL3 so I can post pictures and stuff, but it still alludes me.

Idk, OP has an interesting idea. World Tier difficulty sounds pretty cool tbh

No.

Open world players do not need ilvl 424 gear. Not right now. And I say this as a player who primarily only does open world gameplay. It’s not necessary.

If you want the best quality loot, you should do the most challenging content to earn that loot, and open world content ain’t it.
