285 with Tier Set bonuses shortly after that? Revenge of the Raiders!
You are busy telling him no on his suggestion and you twink out at level 50-59 bracket? You are not even playing end game PVP.
Ah donât worry so much that is not even a Twink.
Just a player making moderate use of readily available options.
I donât care if he twinks or not. I totally understand why he does it. Blizz need to sort out their crap gearing system.
Bgs literally unplayable without rival gear feels like, even in my combatant 1 gear I get smashed when the other guys have 75k hp to my 55k. Feels ridiculous, I donât expect season 3 to be better, but worse.
Yesterday is too late to fix this already.
139 isnt much of a twink when itâs possible to get 158 epic upgrades on that 59. my boas are 146 so technically im a hypocrite and under geared for my level. with pvp food, stam flasks and the bloodorange buff im at 30k hp in bgs so im not too worried.
Or, and hear me out, no scaling garbage at all.
One honor set and one conq set with no upgrades to either, with a small, yet somewhat noticeable iL difference.
So wait, if âgoodâ players are truly good, why do they need more of an advantage by stacking the outcome with better gear? It makes no sense whatsoever. For that matter, who is the lazier player, the one with an ever-increasing advantage and does not want to lose that advantage, or the player who has found something to keep his interest in this game but canât get in a winning BG? Pair of aces ALWAYS wins over a pair of deucesâŚ
You never going to convince someone that loves farming lvlers in bgs that is unhealthy for the game and you also never going to convince lazy people to do the minimum to gear up when lvling. You probably not going to believe this but itâs actually common to see lvlers in the 40-59 still in lvl 20 gear or boa gear that doesnât go past ilvl 29 they didnât upgrade
so everyone needs to get dumbed down because some players wont gear their toons?if a player is still in level 20 gear in the 40-49 bracket thats a lazy player and deserves to lose.
What does âlazyâ even mean within the context of a video game? This is, after all, a game and not a job.
Generally it refers to players being unwilling to put in the effort and/or the time to earn the same rewards as others. Theyâd rather the system change to convenience them.
Whatâs the purpose of having a marginally higher ilvl if itâs small enough that it doesnât matter? If itâs large enough that it does matter, that creates a gap which is the antithesis to competition.
I donât get this stance - which is Blizzardâs stance as well - about enforcing a gear gap that can be overcome with âskillful playâ. That implies that the person with more gear can afford to just be not as skillful. They can just win by the merit of having played longer and accumulated more gear over time.
Actually I do believe that. I am in EBGâs on a daily basis and it is frighteningly common. If those players like the new experience enough they will learn how to improve what they need to in order to continue on. That is not the discussion I believe we are having in this particular thread. For that matter, there is always going to be a disparity in skill, knowledge, support (guild, friends, community), gold or whatever. What I understand this discussion pertains to is the root system, which is basically the equivalent of inviting world class athletes to play in a high school tournament.
In PvE Blizzard forced an NPC/ Player level disparity to be grayed out so players would not spend their time gathering useful experience in levels too far beneath their own iLvl. Why should it be any different in BGâs? You notice when there is timewalking events how they can scale down players to match the content? Why should it be any different with BGâs? I am willing to bet it is because the hard-core PvPâers would probably leave the game if the scales were balanced. At what point does the system only yield diminishing returns via attrition due to frustration? (another way of saying: up and comers will only advance after the top dawgs quit out of boredom or frustration)
Rad, I am not being snarky here, are you actually taking a stance, or merely articulating each sideâs argument?
Obviously you didnât read what I said so Iâll simplify it for you. I agree with both sides of the argument
I did read, and I donât disagree. Both sides of the argument are entrenched. I used the opportunity to expand on my position.
Yeah I know you read it but the pally didnât seem to. Even tho both sides make great points youâll never convince each other so itâs a never ending debate lol. One person loves twinking the other loves jumping right into pvp without worrying about gear.
Yes, I think you are on to something. A lot of discussion has flown past about âscalingâ which always strikes a discordant note. Maybe scaling doesnât have to look like the way it was implemented previously. Shrink the disparities and reduce the steps it takes to do so.
Twinking should not be a thing in the game though. Although I understand because of SL gearing system for PVP itâs forced more people down that path.
