worse than that. thus was born shop mounts/pets/boosts/tokens. the people who pay/buy those, subsidize the rest of the game and keep the sub from increasing
Which are all optional, so if anything, those are a boon to people who don’t want to pay more 
For a game subscription, that’s always been in the high end.
It’s pretty standard amongst mmo’s I’ve played.
i think if boosts and mounts were removed from the shop and just services, vanity pets and collectibles were offered, most of the issue would disappear.
I don’t find issue with any of that honestly.
I’ve never personally bought a boost, but I have some store mounts.
Not a chance, people like you were complaining long before those things were announced just about different things. Some people just like to complain, if it wasn’t boosts or cosmetics it would be something else.
i have one. but i agree with asmon about how mounts on shop, detract from mounts in game.

The minor amount of mounts on the shop really doesn’t detract from the many many hundreds more in game honestly.
The best looking mounts are in game mounts.
