blizzard went the eso level any where everything scales to you route which means no more xmog runs.

No, even BFA will be soloable- but it will be AS soloable as TBC, WOLTK etc because they will all be lv 50.

It explicitly says on the website otherwise.
You might not one shot everything anymore but you can still do it fine i imagine.
For reference i have been party syncing to 80 and soloing classic content for fun.
Its actually really fun because the fights last a minute or so and actually do real mechanics. Aq40 especially was quite difficult.
I hope they do allow the raids to all be somewhat challenging again, but they already can be thanks to party sync.

thats not what scaling is if everything scales to your level while your leveling and say for 40 you cant go to a level 30 zones and solo old dungeons.
if shadowlands truly scaled to you this is how it would work abd how it works in eso.

I’m not sure why so many people seem to assume that the level squish is only going to apply to players and that old content won’t also be squished.

it mite stop at 50 but thats not true scaling if it does they have never played anything other then wow.
I think I have more than enough transmog options already and we will be able to keep doing it.

Blizzard most likely is talking about max level chars in raid gear. What about those, however, not with that gear, or those who do not buy the newest expansion pack?
I belong to a community that collects things, we don´t raid at all. For us, having the ability to hunt stuff on our max level, is important. It could kill the game for us, if we must be 60 and in good gear to still do what we do now.
Besides that, many have alts not on max level, that also farm certain things due the ID´s of raids or world bosses. Those toons no longer can do older content, like I have a witch that can do everything up to Cata. She is not max level yet, but she does her runs weekly.
