Saw my first vote kick in ages!

Long story short… ran Strat, no issues and the tank left at the end of the dungeon with a “ty gj”, so the healer re-queued the rest of us.

We got a bear tank in ZF who decided to chain pull the place. Got to the boss area before the pyramid where you let out all of the guys to help you… and the bear pulled everything. All the things. In every corner of that space.

Shocking: bear died.

He then does a vote kick on the healer with the reason: “not healing.”

Well… a few things:

  1. That bear was squishy as all get out
  2. He insisted on pulling everything
  3. Those packs polymorph

Our healer was getting the brunt of those polymorphs. And our healer was good. They kept the Mage alive when our Strat tank disconnected and came back a few minutes later (no vote kick there, we waited) and did their best with that bear tank.

So of course, I voted no.

And then I said in instance chat, “Our healer is doing the best they can, but you pulled the entire area and they kept getting polymorphed. That’s not their fault.”

The healer replied, “LOL wow thank you!” And the two other DPS responded, “Yeah I was like wth” and “I voted no too.”

The bear stayed quiet.

We didn’t kick him. Just finished and he left without word.

Moral of the story: not everyone is out to kick you, but when someone tries and you weren’t a detriment to the group… some of us got your back. :dracthyr_heart:

“I’m immune to polymorphs!” - The bear

Speedrunners tend to be miserable towards others if they don’t share their enthusiasm for a fast run, lol.

Not everyone is super experienced.

I’m glad y’all gave that healer a chance. That’s another healer that will hopefully stick with the role.

As a healer, I’ve seen that stupid BS in ZF myself where they will pull groups containing one or more polymorph guys and proceed to forget how to stun/interrupt and so I keep getting poly’d over and over again and I can’t heal and they’re dying of random stuff (usually random aggro because tanks don’t care about keeping aggro they just care about going fast).

Saaaaame. I sympathized. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much interrupting I could on my DK. I used Frostwyrm’s Fury, my interrupt when it was up and Asphyxiate as I could… but there were just too many!

I was playing a Holy Priest at the time, so ya… no interrupt at all (or, well, one per like 45 sec I think it is…). Completely at the mercy of 4 other people, none of whom understood what interrupt is, or why they should be using it on the polymorph spells.

That’s a massive area. For someone to go out of their way to pull all the other mobs in the area is sheer insanity. Bear was a nutter. His tank form should have been a squirrel. :chipmunk:

Right?! I stood there watching him like:

I’m out of town at the moment but when I get home I’ll probably run the set for the reward on my paladin as protection. I expect to eat at least one or two kicks before I can finish it. I usually get punted because I refuse to run the perfect path and speed run it. When I’ve complained about it before, half the forum just tells me I’m a halfwit and deserve to get kicked.

Last one was court of stars. I was hitting the pillars for the first boss and I kept asking a couple of them to stop pulling for me. Well one guy pulls the boss and I just let them get their cheeks clapped for doing it. It wiped the group expect for me, I was staying alive. They kicked me for it lol. It was worth it. I went and made coffee and ran undermine WQs until the timer was expired. Hopefully they got burned and had to wait forever for a replacement.

So, I did my 5 as healer… and the first 3 were actually mildly fun, didn’t have any extremely overgeared players, and no twinks.

#4, though, some Lv10 protection paladin with a 2-hander for some weird reason. He died like 3 times in the dungeon because he’d go from 100% down to 0 before I could react.

Eh, we had an 80 frost mage who could do the rest of the pull when the “tank” died. Had no trouble keeping him alive.

Then the 5th was some 14million bear that was speedrunning, and someone who was throwing lots of ranged DPS while chasing the bear. A snoozefest.

I’ve tried twice to play my Mag’har resto shaman and got kicked by two groups and was told “lol Magar” by one of them while doing Timewalking, not sure why the heck people hate Mag’har resto shamans, or was it just bad luck :person_shrugging:

Guessing bad luck. I leveled mine through four Timewalking events and didn’t run into an issue.

People be crazy.

Ugh, last time I did TW, it was a Blackrook Hold, and I was healing on my low level shaman. We start the dungeon, and the dps go “Pull to your hearts content, we don’t mind” and I asked “Are you the heals?” Crickets after that, and it was a semi-smooth run.

I know most of it is faceroll, but I’m rusty with the heals and when they speedrun it and everybody is taking avoidable damage, I want to flip a table.

Wait… based on a lot of posts we see in GD, people never read the kick messages and just auto hit yes.

You are telling me 3 people not only read the message and the who, but also voted no?!

Try my best to use Felpuppy’s Spell Lock for that for Zul’Farak and other classic enemies with ridiculous spells, but can only do it so often

When I am the healer and I see that kind of nonsense I often just leave the dungeon, because I know how that is going to play out.

Also, I have been known to say in group chat to let the tank do the pulling. I am usually spoken to harshly after that, but I just hate it when the group does not respect the tank. And vice versa.
