Well it tracks. Announce the new expansion April 19th. We’ll still be absorbing end of Jailer/fate of Sylvanas. We know there’s going to be a 9.2.5 to implement the cross-faction experiment and wrap up the story. Hopefully they’ll throw us some good quality of life improvements/hopefully a few more customization bones. Then fall could be Wrath classic to keep people distracted etc.
no new continents shown on the map - hard to say if that will change and they just don’t want to pre-reveal anything or if it will be on existing land.
I wonder if they will reveal the release dates
You can have adventures “in” a place, and I think that’s the connotation they were taking here. It’s a bit confusing since Azeroth is both a place (the setting for World of Warcraft) and a planet. Oh, and I guess it’s (she’s?) also a Titan. Yeah. Confusing.
No it’s not. Microsoft won’t be “in charge” until late next year. They have been working on this expansion long before the buyout. 11.0 will the first under Microsoft.

Please, please, please go back to one honor set and one conquest set on the PvP vendors with no upgrades or rating gates. I would be hyped instantly if the expansion includes that one change.

They always want to go back and mess with timelines…
10.0 they come to try and to stop us from going to BFA, we let them win…
10.1 they try and stop SL, we let them win there too…
10.2 They go back and stop us from having all of these stupid expansion specific borrowed power systems that make/break specs/classes where a class is broken without it, we let them delete those from time…
10.3 Horde and Alliance set aside differences and celebrate together for we have set things right in the world(of warcraft).
10.3.5 We head to the CoT and apologize to Nozdormu that we misunderstood him and he was only looking out for us all along.

Give us worgens getting their tails, playable dragons, nine tailed options for vulpera, and more race/class options and you’ve got my attention. A warcraft universe thing in May though…on mobile… so what like the warcraft game coming to mobile or something?
You only have 1 more chance. 10.0 better have next to no borrowed power systems. You need to add a new class AND new specs and figure out how to balance everything better, it is GENUINELY not hard. Figure it out. You need to put the world back into Warcraft and start making fun and interesting content for people who have next to no time to gear up.
WoW is an experience meant to be enjoyed in more forms than just high end pve/pvp. Figure it out. If you’re gonna do player housing, no time gates. No more time gates for flying or the MAIN STORY either. Also get a better lead writer because if this dude botches anymore historical Warcraft lore its over.
If we say something isn’t going to work just listen the first time. While I am excited and hyped for new expansion and all that, a reveal with empty promises that can easily be ignored or forgotten during alpha/beta testing won’t resonate well with anyone. Do better, be better, earn the respect and players back because its surely been gone now.

Something a lot of “it won’t be out this year” people aren’t considering is whether there’s going to be a frequent content release cadence for 10.0 (release a little content often instead of releasing more content less frequently). If so, then 10.0 is possible this year.
Either way, it better not be another case of “we know how you want to play the game”. 10.0 is it - either they do it right or many more throw in the towel and go home.

Yayyyy! So excited. But I hope it fixes the mistakes of Shadowlands, which I think a lot of players are super unhappy about overall (Though I do like parts of it!)

They have said in 3 different interviews in the last three months that shadowlands is “the last chapter in one book of the world of warcraft”
That along with the announcement title and the way things are worded are leading me to believe there is a major shift coming. Not enough information obviously to know what… but perhaps something very drastic.
People keep hoping for things like dragon isles but I’m holding out hope for something much more radical.
Like either an end of life announcement on the current “lore” with the next expansion actually being in some ways a new version of the game all together but perhaps set in the future with an all new never seen Lore and set of heroes and storylines.
Though, I know that’s a lot to hope for from the current team honestly the creativity just hasn’t “felt there” in a long time. I really, really hope they hire outside creative content writers to build the lore if they go this route.
Perhaps it’s still azeroth but 100 years from now when we somehow return from shadowlands in some weird time warp thing.
No matter what it winds up being I really hope it doesn’t involve new zones and “systems” but instead back to basics like straight up just gear, talent points, and epic story lines and quests and raids and dungeons that all take place back on azeroth.
There are so many ways to tap into existing Azeroth zones and have us questing and playing in eastern kingdoms and kalimdor again… I imagine some really awesome quests like the legend of Stalven type stuff with us running around duskwood and elwynn again. Maybe some new defias trouble has emerged again and there is a new raid in some of the old zones as well.
And please give these zones some real actual graphic updates. Make Elwynn forest beautiful on a level like Val Sharah or Nordrassil. With some real legit high resolution textures and trees etc.
Can you poke the council and have them look at the feedback in the hunter tier set threads? Blizzard literally has not seen the problems mentioned in PTR, after it went live, and after the supposed fix tomorrow. I don’t think they are aware of the issues and it is hurting badly.
idk I think everyone won’t be excited for this upcoming expansion for seeing last two expansion were bad. We didn’t get any new race or class to play with, everyone hates gated content and story line haven’t been good in long while and little by little identical politics are showing up in this game and are turning off some of players included myself. Will I played this new up coming expansion? sure its my escapism but idk if you’re going get back all those players who fled to FFXIV.

Patch 9.2 just dropped. They never reveal an expansion the same time the last major content patch drops. Always takes some time afterwards.
