I wish Horde did have San’layn/Darkfallen! I fully support the All Powerful, All-Knowing, and Wise Blood Queen Fallynn! ((I play on Wyrmrest Accord, for Horde-side!!!))
Just checking in for my weekly bump Really hoping Blizzard will give us more info about possible allied races soon!
bump this all over Blizzard’s faces! YES!
My Birthday is Saturday, Blizzard should give us the gift of San’layn for it! (I’m just kidding.)
I wonder if we’ll see any San’layn for the new Death Knight starting area, though. In the original one, we did quite a few quests for the three Blood Princes ( ). I think it’d be super cool if we saw at least one of the missing Blood Princes in the new one. If that’s the case, I have very strong hope, because Bolvar is in fact on our side now. Fingers crossed! I don’t have my hopes up for it too high, though.
Well, Blizzard DID give me the gift of Battle for Azeroth, on January 31, 2018, by putting it up for prepurchase, that very same day! I hope Blizzard treats you, for your birthday, even if it’s a late birthday gift! Happy Early Birthday, Blood Queen Fallynn!!!
With any luck, maybe I’ll get Horde Ogres and Saurok for my birthday in March. <- < I hope you have a good birthday on Saturday, Fallynn. Happy early birthday!
Hard to believe that it is December 2019, with the year almost over. I’ll likely type up something in the near future regarding the year and such. Life has been a bit hectic, so I haven’t had as much time as I wanted to in order to help support megathreads and post in general. x- x
I’ve been rp’ing a San’layn since the end of Wrath. An actual playable San’layn race would be a dream come true, but not much would change on my char. I’m already a blood elf blood dk.
Really excited for Venthyr though! Vampire abilities, vampire mount, vampire backpieces(wings please blizz), and that plate! It reminds me of spellbreaker armor, with batwings on the helm instead of feathers, and gargoyles perched on the shoulders instead of eagles. It’s just so perfect!
They might not have given us a vampire playable race, yet, but they’re giving us the next best thing… vampire everything else! Revendreth is vampire heaven!
Can’t think of a better time for them to do it.
without a doubt agreed.
This xpac coming up might be the best spot light to push the darkfallen out of the shadows
I hope we do get them as a playable race (and them having demon hunters as a class option too), and get a bunch of lore about them and the blood curse and if the blood curse could relate to the nathrezim since those demons were considered vampiric in nature as well.
San’layn would never most likely be a Demon hunter. San’layn I remind you are Undead, not Fel infused.
San’layn should most likely come in as a new race. I have strong feelings they will, kind of like a gut instinct you know?
If Forsaken can be warlocks there’s literally no reason a San’layn couldn’t be a DH.
Demon Hunters are infused with Fel, while Warlocks merely wield it externally, similar to Paladins vs Priests.
Does that matter? Shadow priest’s shadowform is based off a lore ability Forsaken priests have where they become completely one with shadow. Also undead paladins are rare but they exist.
WoW races mix cosmic energies all the time. I mean, we’re being asked to accept that, as of 8.3, Lightforged and Void Elf Death Knights are going to be things.
A far less troublesome example would probably be discipline priests, though.
Just me again (Sil) bumping my favorite megathread
After thinking about it and seeing the Venthyr, I don’t think we need sanlayn IF it’s just a red eyed blood elf. But then I’m also kind of torn on the Venthyr being playable because it’s like Nightborne times 100. I know I don’t want my trolls going to Ardenwald and having soul bonds and all that being betrayed by the Night Fae if they side with Tyrande.
I don’t think anyone in this thread wants San’layn to just be red-eyed blood elves The concepts that have been discussed go way beyond that.
This exactly. Not to mention it’s made abundantly clear that San’layn are more than just boring old Blood Elves with red eyes. The Blood Curse, as seen via Lana’thel and the Blood Princes, is a mutagen. Vampires aren’t only humans with red eyes, so why would San’layn, the first non-demonic vampires we’ve seen in WoW, just be that?
I understand that people are all over the moon because something ‘new’ showed up, but I’m sticking to my original plan and not faltering. I didn’t build a community for 1.5 years just to sit down and say, “Oh, the new kid should take the spotlight in my thread as an AR instead of San’layn. Blood Elves with red eyes would be just fine.” Like I keep saying, if people want to start a Venthyr thread and put in a ton of work, go for it. Heck, feel free to even post it here. It’s obvious I’d way rather have San’layn because of the lore established already, but one doesn’t have to replace the other.
It just… meh. Not like we’ve gotten new info lately or anytime soon. It’s why I’ve been so quiet. Not to mention my focus is on something I can control, since now I’ve finally self-published. At least I can have awesome vampires in that world
To be fair, you don’t want to end up where the helfers have where nothing makes you happy because it’s not exactly this super exact group.
I think Venthyr are at this point more likely than San’layn given the obvious parallel in the Nightfae which the San’layn don’t have an answer to.
Definitely push for what you want, but you might have to accept the next best thing.
