For those of you who plan on playing the same class you played as your main before, are you going to give him the same name as before or choose a new name?
I haven’t decided. The old name is recognizable by old friends. But a new name seem appropriate for a fresh new start with a new Level 1 character.
I don’t plan to use the same name for my orc warlock as I currently have any named. (There are characters like this one that I will probably recreate just because, but this gal might try to get a different name based on the nickname I preferred.)
I’m keeping that close to the vest. No it won’t be the name I used in retail.

Oh, abso-bloody-lutely. I love my main, and I am set on recreating him entirely in Classic, with the same race, class, appearance, and especially the same name.
Technically my hunter will have a different name then what his original name was. That being said, he’ll have the same name he currently has on modern wow.

Diff name. Just gonna choose a race/class and go with w/e appearance was given. Name him “Pwndyuded” or something like that and that’s it. I’m hoping the random appearance looks as mean and ugly as possible.

Although I might make this character or a Tauren warrior named greens…
I couldn’t stand them either, but Diplomacy is so good. And gear can make watching your toon a little better.
same here. genderswapping my main because undead females look so much better in vanilla. definitely going to create a “legacy” version of my main exactly how I made him in 05 and just leave him at level 1.
I’m making new names for bank alts. They’re all going to have regular names like Jessica, Fred, Dave, Karen or other such regular names.
I lost original character names to server changes. I’m getting them back. Even if I can’t play for weeks, I’ll be on day one claiming names.
I’m recreating my entire RP roster so yes, ideally it’d be the same names. I may end up changing the names that I can’t re-use.
I started in vanilla, but I actually didn’t get “my name” until TBC. I’ll probably use that name again… The rest I don’t care about as most of them were changed a few times.
I’ll use the same name, i’ve been using it since 01 or 02 for online games, so i’m sorta infamous for it, and it has a funny story / joke tied to it also reference. Plus i used it on all the P servers, so it’ll be nice when people who saw the same name on all those fourms will be like “Oh hey i remember that guy” Always nice to just bump into folk you semi knew.
