Sales Tax charged on Blizzard Balance purchases

Still waiting for over 4 month the tax number that Blizzard use to charge tax on my transaction. I’m in Quebec, Canada It’s mandatory to show that number to be able to collect tax for Quebec governement.

Fellow Canadian here (waves)…I’m pretty sure we don’t pay taxes on our subscriptions or on digital purchases from Blizz.

I can’t imagine that there’s some sort of Canadian (or provincial) tax that Blizz would be required to collect from us. What makes you think you were charged taxes on a Blizz online purchase?

Talk to your elected officials. Most all states have made sales tax collection mandatory for online purchases. Some states allow the business to pay the sales tax themselves without passing it on to the buyer, others mandate that the business collect tax at time of purchase. But this isn’t Blizzards doing at all. They have to follow the laws of the states that their item is available for purchase in.
Short of an insurrection or a modern era Boston tea party, you’re stuck paying the extra couple bucks.

To be fair, things like sales tax and property tax make sense. It’s supposed to go towards that community (even though most states throw it in their general fund where it sits there and is used to give out raises to seat warmers).

Don’t understand income tax or excise tax. I’m spending my income on other taxable things, why are they double dipping? And then excise tax is like triple dipping. Who takes three bites to eat a chip?

Also Canadian. I think that he’s mistaken unless orders from Quebec are different (which is actually a possibility). I just double checked and I’ve never been charged any tax on my Blizz purchases.

Blizzard is not going to pay your taxes for you.

Taxation is theft

You like maintained roads? Emergency services? Public schools? That’s what taxes pay for. Move to Somalia if ya don’t like it.

See I live in a country that has 0 cases of corona virus because people could afford to stay in lock down since the government created various benefits and allowances out of tax money they collected.

We had a total of 22 people die.

I’m fine with paying tax.

Rofl, my parents states roads are horrible, the schools are broke, and emergency services take hours to get to you. Where TF are their taxes going?

MI is a corrupt state. They can’t even keep the roads and highways safe in the winter.

Sports starting up with crowds allowed at games.
Bars have been open for a month.
Life is essentially back to normal except for some hand sanitiser in shops and the airport being heavily monitored and quarantine of people coming in.

I would happily have higher tax and get even more from the government if it was an option too. Most of the countries with good quality of life do that such as Scandinavia etc

I get what you’re saying but you are misunderstanding why New Zealand fared well. You guys have a population density of 46 people per square mile with a total national population 1/3 of a large US city. You guys fared about as well as similar US states, maybe a little better. The US has your countries entire population travel to it in about 17 days. Do not take this as disparaging because it is anything but. :new_zealand: are fine folks. You’re just comparing an ant Hill to a mountain.
Its easy to underestimate the magnitude of the US when many people do this country to country comparisons. But many countries are smaller than our cities and are more relative to an individual state. TL;DR your taxes had nothing to do with it, viruses dont work like that.

IIRC they also reacted well when it first became a problem, unlike us. We still aren’t reacting well, the virus is still a problem and we have 70k people packed nut to butt in the street to protest.

Our initial tracking had us similar to Italy

Wish people would do some research before commenting. Bad information is tossed around like candies at a parade.

When people are able to afford to stay inside because they are getting paid to do so then it has everything to do with it. Meanwhile your protest leaders are getting sick

It’s not all about money here, we just have a lot of idiots… People were protesting to that they needed haircuts…
