I feel like this is a hyperbole. Lfg is a lot more empty, especially at lower ratings, with the addition of shuffle. However, i usually see a dozen + teams regularly.
I have seen FAR more toxicity in rss and at lower ratings than I have ever seen in coordinated 3s and higher rated play and it’s not close.
I absolutely think improvements can be made, but I think it’s a playerbase issue more than a design one, and I think the playerbase behaves more and more this way because they’re being catered to instead of being punished for being toxic.
Old xp is almost always irrelevant in the current season. Good players will continue to be successful.
It’s why a season 1 ret paladin elite means nothing in the current meta.
Exactly. There is SO much self handicapping it’s unbelievable.
Most normal people are able to point and laugh at some loser raging at them in a video game. Rss and bgb 100% killed arena. The player base is spread too thin and people queue the easiest most inflated bracket
I don’t think the glad mount matters to the majority of the players, though, because even with the inflation we’ve seen every season there just aren’t that many players interested in improving and/or feel like it’s an insurmountable wall to climb so they don’t even try.
After all, the vast majority of all the other rewards are unlocked at 16, 18, and 2100 when starting shuffle mmr is ~1800 atm. All you gotta do is go 50/50 for a few lobbies and you’ll get your elite set and tier token, which is what most peoples’ goals are.
It is a pretty steep time investment honestly. My friends have not come back from end of DF, and tho i havent really stepped into the arena on this account, its just no fun without your actual friends (to me). I play to have fun, if im not having fun i play one of my other classes.
I find it weirds its only forum gladiators who hate on RSS, meanwhile actual rank 1s love and live in the mode. Obviously it isnt a terrible mode, otherwise they wouldn’t be queueing
Hmm? I don’t think people hate the mode, I think they hate what it does to the community and the sense of entitlement it created.
I enjoy shuffle. I love that there’s an option to just press Q for if your friends are busy or there aren’t other teams Qing around your mmr. I also genuinely enjoy the versatility of the game mode having to play with and against different specs.
I don’t like how the first season was so INSANELY inflated that lifetime 1400 players were getting 2800+. Not because of gatekeeping or anything silly like that; they earned those rewards same as everyone else.
However, ever since then there’s been this pervasive expectation that EVERY season be similarly inflated and, if it’s not, there’s an “mmr cap” or “blizzard needs to fix mmr”.
Then people echo chamber whine and moan into a cacophony that scares players away from Qing which creates the exact “deflation” they’re so annoyed with and it’s 100% their own fault.
No but seriously as a noob you can’t cause rage to others if you don’t have teammates, and you get reps to learn your spec and practice. 1v1s need to happen!
That makes sense. Im not the type of player who boasts about in-game achievements/rating. Some people think im a glad smurfing, others thing i should delete the game. At the end of the day it all depends on how stoned i am lol.
And systems like soloque is why toxicity like this has become so rampant.
There is no real consequences for the actions of these people.
Once server identity died so to did the protection against toxicity did.
Disc priest and hunters killed arena. The disc has infinite MP and you need to be at 75 dampening before they stop instant healing to full and shielding for 10m. After thatz they also self res when killed and gain back half their mana.
