after playing wow with my wife for the past 14 years and her having been an active progression raider since vanilla, even having a couple of world first kills with her original guild in BC.. I’ll be playing Midnight alone. She just told me, when I was going to buy her the collectors edition.
She has decided with all the incoming changes to the game with classes being gutted, housing now being limited, everything being simplified, addons being eliminated without proper in game replacements etc.. she just thinks it’s a good time to step away for good.
I had hope she’d at least make it until Last Titan. So now I truly am a solo player. I lost my mains pvp partner, my dungeon buddy and world boss killing partner. Really depressed by it.

Eh, good for her. I encourage people to step away from things they no longer enjoy. Sorry you lost your gaming buddy though! Maybe she’ll watch you play and feel enticed to resub again.
WoW can still be enjoyable on your own time, but maybe it’s time to find other games you both can play together? There’s some cool cooperative games on steam
I’d encourage you to find a game you can play with your partner. There’s lots of other games besides WoW, and gaming with your partner is always going to be more enjoyable than gaming alone.
maybe when she sees you playing it could reinvigorate her to re-sub…maybe she’ll find other things to do in the game that she hasn’t done…you never know
That was me in TWW, my wife bought the pre-release and I was not interested at all. But I watched her play and got sucked in and here I am still playing lol.
I honestly think Blizzard should rip the bandaid off now, disable the API parts they want to nuke, before Midnight. Then let players decide if Midnight is a game they want to play.
I honestly would like to have a test run at it, before I plop $70 bucks down for it. I been at this since Vanilla, 20+ years, this change is way out of the overton window for me.
Addons were never a requirment, always a choice.
The game and classes being dumbed down to reskins and a 4 button “Xbox Controller” rotation is WILD.
”Barrier”….. That is a joke reason, they can do thier research as millions of others have.
This is a big part. Think of the housing especially. The biggest room takes twenty units, and I don’t think you can even earn twenty units yet. They’re knee deep into iterating systems, and not nearly on the balancing stage yet.
Now? It was always going to have an unlock path. Like most other MMORPG housing. I don’t understand this complaint.
The rest I completely understand… this one I don’t.
And I’m sorry she won’t be playing with you any longer. My hubby quit in Legion. But I still have my guildies. I do play often by myself, but they’re there to chat with and run stuff when they feel like it.
I hope you can find a guild or group to hang out with!
