Actually i dont do all those 4 steps in sequence,
what i do is, launch tar trap, while it flies to the ground and detonate, i keep my regular rotation, barbed, kill comand and stuff, once it detonate on the ground, then i throw the flare.
So i can optmize the fly and detonate CD
It doesnt bug, your macro is wrong. I use this macro and its never bugged and always works 100% as long as Im doing the simple act of casting ANY ability between trap and flare, and if at max range 2 abilities.

You forgot number 5 : The tank drags the pack out of your trap before the flare lands.
For those suggesting Qa’pla, Eredun War Order legendary, it’s important to keep in mind that it may lead you into a focus starved chasm of unbalance. It seems great in writing, which is why I crafted one.
Kill Command costs 30 focus and I had it up constantly. I quickly found my bars greyed out almost constantly and actually lost DPS using it. A five second cooldown reduction doesn’t mean much when you can’t actually use the ability.
Honestly, I’m kind of lost at the moment.
This hunter is BM, almost 1200 score, 6 14 done, and 2 13’s
I can’t get ONE invite for a +15 dugeon.
I’m starting to get discouraged, I don’t like playing MM, but I’m seeing myself forced to do so.
I don’t know what to do, I have ashes to craft the legendary rank 4 of MM if I want, but I’m afraid, I don’t know how MM and BM will behave in patch 9.0.5
This week for example, I am doing all 10 dugeons +14 to get the 3 226 rewards.
Suddenly if I get to 220 of ilvl, some invites start to arrive, I don’t know, really.
Yesterday I did a 14 with some people and the tank added me, saying that today night would do the 15, and would call me if I’m on, lol this is the closest I’m getting to a 15 this season = (

Push your own keys. Really. I completed my 1st 15 last week, took a shot at another 15 (NW) as well but after wiping many times on the 3rd boss everyone mutually agreed we just didn’t have what was needed to finish. I was 3rd in dps in both 15 keys but not by much (under 300 dps).
Surprisingly, recruiting for a 15 is way easier than for a 14. I think I have a fair shot at KSM this season as a bm hunter, but only by pushing my own keys.

It works fine when it doesn’t bug out. Truth be told, it hasn’t bugged out in recent memory as it did when I first applied this macro into my rotation. I apply the second flare using its own hot button. But, by this time I’ve already moved on to RFK with dramatic positive effect. I’m not sure I’ll go back to SFE if next week’s patch proves to be an improvement as advertised. Likely Blizzard will stealth nerf the potency of pet critical hits.
The secret is to get your IO high on Marks, then once it’s high just play BM lol, nobody will say anything. ROFL

1.15x1184x1.22x1.24 = 2059 base dmg
add in bestial wrath so 25% more dmg = 2059x1.25 = 2574
Without the legendary it would crit for 5149 and with legendary it will crit for 2574x2.35 = 6048 so an extra 899 dmg.
Pet claw/bite. I haven’t found a formula for it but when the pet is above 50 focus
it deals about 73.5% of the dmg of kill command using aspect of the beast talent so using that…
Without the legendary it’ll deal 2574x0.735x2 = 3784 vs with the legendary it would be 2574x0.735x2.35 = 4445 or an extra 661.
Then you have your pet attacks that deal 21.2% of kill command dmg so…
2574x0.212x2 = 1091 vs 2574x0.212x2.35 = 1283 or an extra 191.
KC increases by 899
Pet claw/bite increases by 661
Pet attack increases by 191
For me with 10% haste, my pet attacks 12 times during BW with barbed shot at 1-2 stacks, claws 5 times and I can get off 4 KC during BW.
Assuming 30% crit from stats and thrill of the hunt or aspect of wild
4 pet atks, 2 clas and 1 kc will crit meaning
Tested the macro, works, but sometimes after u throw the trap, the next action “flare” dont work, so i have to use it manually
like 3/10 times

IM atm 1201 score, 1 - 15++ and 7 - 14’s, i shouldnt have problems to be invited for 15´s, idk why this is happening, maybe ilvl? Im 216, working to get at least 220, all my rewards this week will be 226, lets see what i get

I can’t say that I’ve ever asked or looked at a hunters spec when I invite them to my 15s. I’m a tank. I mostly look at their io and 15s timed. Just my 2 cents
My case, i have 1 15++ spires
and the others 14
1200 io
i cant upgrade my io unless i do all 14++ lol
so only 15 fits me
Simmed both RPF against SFE after todays Buff to RPF .
I am 213 geared with SFE {shoulders} 212 with RPF {Back} {shoulder slot deficient}.
Patchwerk single target with no gear swapping{minimal options} other than Legendary.
RPF was 55 dps behind. Given the chances to miss not apply depending on targets movement I will stick with RPF
Simed as M+ slice RPF was 105 dps behind RPF again given the overall clunky use of SFE Not going to bother swapping back and forth at this time.
That said if they make some adjustments ?
Mathematically speaking (which is the perspective we are getting from all BM guide writers) SFE will always out preform RPF when uses optimally.
With that said it is important to understand what using SFE optimally means. It is not as simple as using it on CD. There are 3 main factors that go in to using SFE optimally.
Using two flares for one trap. Flare has a 20 second CD, Tar remains for 30 seconds, The DoT is 12 seconds long. If you can accomplish this you will see a vast increase in SFE up time.
Having SFE’s DoT up during Beastial Wrath. 25% more damage to SFE is no joke. You can only fit one DoT in to BW’s duration but is is well worth the effort.
Using it around Wild Spirits and not during. WS and SFE actually have a revers synergy unlike what some guides may suggest. SFE dose not trigger a WS on activation or from DoT ticks. So using it during WS is a massive DPS loss.
On top of what is already a clunkily to use legendary it is actually far more involved them some acknowledge. You need to also preform your normal rotation and maintain frenzy on top of that. Miss managing barbed shots is a far greater DPS loss then using RPF instead of SFE.
That being said SFE regardless will shine in 2+ stacked targets for one simple reason. Beast Cleave sucks. Still if you struggle to ensure you are making at least passable use of SFE while also managing barbed shots and focus it is far better to us RPF. The two are very very VERY close on ST and it dose synergize with Wild Spirits because you always want to have Beastial Wrath up for the duration WS/ Aspect of the Wild which gives your pets more focus meaning more abilities meaning more chances at hard hitting pet crits.
Yea Embers is mathematically 60DPS more over Rylaks Fangs… At least on my character… Not enough to worry with getting it IMHO… Just stick with RF.
