It’s this. A good tank has an immediate feel for what the healer is doing, and knows what it takes to keep them up. I will not outpace what the healer can handle. If they can handle it, I will pull big and use cooldowns to help them along. If they can’t, and the dps keeps trying to ramrod their way through it, I will say something in chat. If they ignore that, I’ll flat let them die and the whole pace will change anyway.
