That proves they spent crests on things they shouldn’t have.

The design is doing what it’s supposed to. Crests are intended to be a limiting factor early in the season.
Some people have figured out how to work around this, so it’s a limit for less time, while others haven’t, and blame it for existing.
The source of your issue here is the interface between your chair and keyboard.

They should remove crests and re-add titanforging.
Only form of TF that makes any level of sense is items dropping pre-upgraded.

I am fine with those people no-lifeing the game. I just hate when they come to the forums to complain that they run out of things to do.
Look at them boasting for skipping most of Runed Crest upgrades as they get 701 gear on Week1. Wait here at around Week6, they would start complaining about the Vault being garbage as it starts giving duplicates very early. Unlike me, it would take longer weeks before my Vault gives duplicates becoz I started from Heroic Vault upgrade unto Mythic Vault upgrade when I access M+10 later in the Season.
Isn’t hilarious that the same kind of people that talk down and look down on others this way here?
I get it, but then again, I don’t. Technically we can grind gear out of Mythic + until we pass out but upgrading our gear has to hit a bottle neck every week. I am capped on all crests so I really can’t even spend valor if I wanted to. Just let us invest our time and upgrade our gear as we so choose.
I played an alt for the first time, and I got to say. It was kind of freeing not having to be too worried over the currency cap for a bit. But I hit most of them every Tue night after reset on my main. Hit them because they are too easy to hit and are not going up by a reasonable amount each week. Just my opinion.

Crest caps are by design. There are ways to overcome them. The game has enough tooltip information where if you use your brain you can deduce that you probably shouldn’t full send upgrade on every item and probably wait for better items to upgrade.
Everyone experienced the same “issue” but OP is making it much worse on themselves because they didn’t take the time to plan and strategize. Complaining about it isn’t gonna do anything because as we all know this won’t be an issue in a couple of weeks.
This is a waste of a thread. Even if people like me are coming across as condescending we actually gave them sound advice which they choose to ignore. OP must be a troll

The annoyance for me is that there isn’t a smooth transition in gearing as you move up. There will be in a few weeks, but why not just fully allow people to move up through the ranks, especially for those who are playing new characters.
They want to make delves a solid solo path and I think that’s great, but let people move out of that content as well. If the concern is we are gearing too quickly, than get rid of the vault. Just seems like a bandaid.

When I have to upgrade what I have because my luck is bad with drops, and I do want to help my guild progress on raid nights not every decision is always a great one, but item level and stats is always more power and will help so no decision is necessarily bad per say. You just don’t want to be that guy. The one holding everyone else back.
If youre bottlenecking and wasting crests its doing more harm than good.

If you are even somewhat serious about raiding this is a good guide to follow. They release one every tier.
Wasting runed on anything but hero or higher is wasting. Also using gilded on mythic track is bad if you have access to myth track.
The gain is not worth the loss of crests into champ track

I have a simlar bottleneck with runed crests.
My complaint isn’t that I’ve upgraded poorly because it seems I’ve done that. I accept the consequence and didn’t know there was a better way.
Any better way isn’t talked about or suggested in- game. Cuzolth has plenty to say about crests but never talks about using them well.
To those that argue “You’re supposed to learn it on your own.”, Blizzard has made many QOL changes over the years (no more looking things up on Thottbot).
You shouldn’t need a tutorial popup telling you to consider upgrading items that are less likely to be replaced.
