Run M+ or quit wow

Everything always comes down to raiders, lol. Raiders did not care that m+ players got loot super quick, we just didn’t want it to be the best loot option for Raiding.

Blizzard could have easily added m+ only set bonuses and raid only set bonuses to help, or they could have went the WoD route with PvP gear scaling based on which content you’re in, but they instead decided to nerf loot. Guess what? Raiders are still affected because that’s the way we gear as well.

We just want to be able to raid and progress at a decent pace. The nerfs did not fix this issue.

i have a feeling that me saying if you don’t have time to raid then to not raid is somehow being misconstrued as me being elitist. but that’s just the way it is.

The time for raiding is fine.

The problem is the Raider Tax that Blizzard forces raiders to pay outside of raid. Mostly in the form of mandatory Mythic+.

You weren’t being elitest. It’s just fact. MMOs are built around time sinks. The game shouldn’t suffer because people like OP don’t have much time to play. It’s just the genre.

i am accounting for that. raiders have to do all kinds of things they don’t want to do to be competitive. you don’t get to just show up and kill a few bosses and get rained with BiS loot. the time to do mythic+ and everything else and raid competitively is a lot more than 8 hours a week. i didn’t say i agreed with it. but it’s the nature of the game right now. i am fully in support of knee capping mythic+ because it’s too lucrative to this day. but until that happens it’s a part of gearing whether people like it or not.

I will never understand why people think they have the right to ask this particular question. It’s not your place to ask anyone why they need ANYTHING in this game.

That’s pretty much why I told the OP to quit. It stinks, but there’s nothing we can do about it. Blizzard wants raiders to play all day and still have time scheduled to raid, yeah no. We all don’t have the luxury of having a great team to carry us Ion.

to have a job and family too.

you only need raid level loot if you’re raiding. if you play for 6 hours a week doing pet battles or whatever you don’t need it. the worst thing they ever did was let emissaries give raid level loot and warfronts give free heroic raid level loot.

the game is balanced around you spending hours and hours grinding things you don’t want to do so you can grind even more time to do the things you do want to do. that’s an MMO. the only way to bypass it is to not play competitively. if you have 6 hours a week to play and you only want to raid thats the worst place to be in imo as far as this game goes.

You wanna break it down like that huh? Ok
YOU dont need to play at all…since we’re on a diatribe espousing how we can tell other people what they need or dont.

I’d put easy 5-man dungeons giving raid-quality loot on that list, too. Especially with no lockout so you can do them infinite times.

i am 160 from doing casual content because that’s how i spend my time. and i enjoy the things i do to get that gear. i am not crying that i should be in full raid epics for logging in.

i go on enough rants about mythic+ ruining actual gear progression in the game that i didn’t mention it then. but yes mythic+ being a loot pinata is the worst offender in making gear worthless.

I really give the people in my guilds props. They have spouses, kids, and some even go to school and work while still making it 8 hours a week. Adding M+ on top of that is just brutal, and some still do it, they’re superhuman I swear.

Raid time is grinding, you’re playing the game while raiding, no? Why should we have to do extra in addition to raid grinding?

That’s how the game worked before m+. Sure you could login and farm herbs if you’d like, but the only way to obtain gear was from raid nights, and if you raided 6 hours a week then that’s how much time you spent gearing.

i wish mythic+ had never been introduced personally. they do nothing but insult raiders and tell them how archaic it is and it should be removed and the future of the game is mythic+ because they want to pug their way to full mythic raid gear instead of joining a guild and actually earning their gear. makes me so irritated. raiding is the pinnacle of wow. it should be the best in terms of gear. and even pvp gear should have resilience on it so its BiS in pvp and raiders aren’t forced to grind it.

This is not a problem exclusive to raiders. Anyone who wants to keep their ilevel up must grind all of these different systems.

And everything is the fault of “the raiders”. They’re being treated so unfairly… while receiving better treatment than everyone else.

I was having a conversation in a different thread a couple days ago, and one player was talking about how raiders are “so mean” to casual players. And I asked him for some examples and he replied. I point out that his example was a Mythic+ player, not a raider.

People just have it in their heads on this forum that “jerk = raider” when in truth raiders posting here at all is pretty rare, and most of the standard loud-mouths are Mythic+ players.

Can only play 6 hours a week.
Complains that he doesn’t get loot.

I work full-time and still have substantially more than 6 hours a week to play. Granted my situation doesn’t apply to you, but if you’re so swamped with your day-to-day that you barely get a chance to log in, you might just be wasting money on a sub to begin with.

The loot systems in SL are less generous than BFA, but they’re certainly more generous than they were in the past. You get guaranteed loot every week from the vault, and then a chance at loot from whatever bosses you kill. Keep in mind that this content is all we’re getting for the next 6 months or so, so there’s no point in them getting you fully-geared in 3 weeks. Keep playing at the pace the game has set for us, or drop out if you don’t have the time.

Everyone is out to change the game because they don’t like something.

Yeah, all those Mythic+ players with their infinite loot streams heading into raids for a vastly inferior rate of return than they would have had if they just spent that time doing more M+ runs instead.

Give me a break.
