the 2 zones Belf zones need to be added to the rest of Kalimdor so that we no longer need to take that portal to go between the zones.

Think it’s a difficult sell. They’ll have to remake the zones to do that; might as well wait until when/if they’re revamping other zones, too.

I feel of all the Old Content Eastern Kingdom will need the most Love compared to the other contienet’s. I feel it is the only continent thats has 2 zones part of the Main Continent thats seperated from the rest of it even though there supopsed to be all 1 land. Assuming that they were planning on adding Dragon Riding to the older content before dragonflight launched they would know adding it to the older zones would take a bit of time. I feel updating the older zones would also give them a reason to update all of eastern Kingdoms to be all 1 Continent and not have the 2 zones tied to the BElfs seperated by an instance entrance and actually allow us to fly over the mountains to them and allow us to fly in those 2 zones as well I feel.
Another thing I haven’t seen anyone else mention is that SMC is basically flat walls with no real depth behind them save ones with actual rooms to go in, and even then those are just basically boxes built into a flat wall.
SMC from the spot players are not supposed to get into, looks like an old TV filming set. That’s probably the main reason that flying never got added to the Zone. Blizz would have to actually go in and fleshed out the City like Org, TB, etc.
Don’t get me wrong, I love SMC! When I first started WoW in BC, my first Character was a BE Paladin (still play him all these years later) and I will never forget how beautiful the Music and Ambiance of SMC is!! The magic Brooms sweeping, working at the Forge / BS Anvil across from the BLood Knight Temple.
I would love to see SMC become a real City! The reality is that Blizz probably is more focused on new Raid Tiers, M+, etc etc for that kind of work to be done without a major Patch around it that would require Players to start spending fairly substantial time there in order to justify the time and effort it will require.

I feel probably would be easier to just make all of Eastern Kingdom all 1 zone finally after all these years for what i feel are 2 basic reasons.
1 flush out all the buildings where they only have graphics in areas that we can see due to the INvisable walls or cause wse cant fly over spots like Silver moon city.
2 add flying to the 2 Belf zones.

I’d like to reply to all 3 of these as it relates to the same concept.
Yep many of us are aware that the zone itself isn’t on the same area as the eastern kingdom technically. I do believe back in Cata this would have been a monumental ask, but now I really think WoW has the tech and capability.
One thing noted is the idea of leaving what the current zone is as the starter experiencing, and having a new updated zone once they leave. I don’t mind this, but will say they should update at the bear minimum the environment model in the old one. The 2d trees and otherwise is just embarrassing for WoW to show with today’s modern day assets.
This brings us to the last point: SMC is a cardboard cut out. Some may recall that originally a lot of the cities and hubs were like this until updates. One thing we could easily do is recycle Suramar legion assets for Silvermoon. Do you all recall how beautiful and massive that city was? Grab the buildings, change the colors to red, add some green gems and Phoenix emblems and people would love it.
~Just to summarise:~
Quel’thalas technically not part of main continent: This is considered and hopefully fixable or approachable with several ideas.
Old zone kept and new zone built: Good idea. Doesn’t touch current zone and cause bugs, but requires them to rebuild all of new zone.
Cardboard city: In relation to previous point, can build new and can use Suramar city assets.

They’d have to entirely rebuild the entire zones. From scratch. The ground, buildings, everything. Legacy zones that most people skip now and go right to Exile’s reach.
I don’t see it happening. It would be like having an Outlands ground-up rework now while not making it a new expansion like WOD.

Sure, the world probably does need a touch-up, but us oldies remember Cata. And we especially remember how 90% of Cata was basically untouched by anyone at max level because we didn’t need the levelling experience. And we especially remember how Cata’s development went completely out of control and resulted in Certain Parts (The entire end of the Worgen story for Alliance for one, plus Abyssal Maw as the big one) being scrapped
Basically ‘cata but again’ does not a good expansion promise make because Cata wasn’t generally seen as the best

I do know I’d just love if the main hubs were. I very much just enjoy chilling in SMC and using its facilities back then.
