Is running your own campaigns that isn’t part of game lore but is somehow intertwined/entangled with the Lore, frowned on? If so then that would mean majority of the RP community is only Lore oriented, correct?
Could you elaborate on what you mean by this; or perhaps give an example?
Running your own RP events/campaigns that has its own story but has nothing to do with the game’s lore and current content of story.
Like player creates their own creatures/species and villains of their own story/campaign events/story arcs; races, species and creatures/monsters that aren’t part of wow’s lore or content but your own creations. Wandering if running a RP event like this is frowned on doing?
I imagine most folks are here specifically to portray the setting but are willing to roll with things not explicitly seen to exist as long as they seem plausible to fit. Some individuals may try to incorporate things that are blatantly outside of the setting (I especially recall characters blatantly taking from DnD lore, for example), I presume with varied results. That said, I’d imagine the majority are, to some degree at least, lore oriented; I certainly am.
Generally speaking, it all depends on how you’re doing it and who you’re doing it with. The Warrior Cats fandom held a niche in the community for years, though I’m not sure if they still have a presence anywhere in game. Some ideas can also technically exist if adapted to fit the setting. If you were to, say, take something from a homebrew you made, without trying to adapt it to Warcraft, maybe some people might be into it, but I doubt you’d get a lot of folks willing to play along in game.

If your campaign is at least lore-adjacent, there shouldn’t be an issue.
It’s also far more likely that those not inolved won’t pay any attention anyway.
As long as you’re following the ToS and CoC, just focus on your own RP goals. You’ve already received great advice here, so don’t be discouraged if it doesn’t get massive traction—not every niche fits the wider playerbase.
The important thing is putting your content out there. Leave your mark, and your post will serve as a beacon for like-minded players to find you.
