I wouldn’t put my money on the stress test… it will most likely be just a couple of realms like the last one… At this point I don’t think we will know until the day the name reserves come out… and from that point forward it’s not likely they will change anything.

Vanilla WoW originally had like 3-4 RP-PVP servers most of which were low pop all the time. Same with most of the PVP servers.

I feel if the answer was a definite no, we’d have heard word by now. They know that if they just string us along that it will cause outrage. They could have came in here back in March or April and did some PR post along the lines of:
“We understand your call for an RP-PVP server and will continue to gauge interest in this realm type but we currently feel it to be too niche and might damage the long term health of the game blah blah blah.”
And we’d have hashed it out and been over it by now. So I feel the most likely reason for no word about RP-PVP yet means they are using it as a big reveal to generate more hype. This is my theory anyway, I suppose we’ll find out in a few short weeks.

I’m not optimistic at this point honestly. Rolling it around in my head, I keep coming back to 1 of 2 things. Either, the answer was and remains “No, too niche”, or, they just aren’t convinced there’s adequate long-term sustainability. In which case, the answer refers back to “Too Niche”.
I’m disappointed, but I’m not jumping ship until launch on the 27th.

I am cautiously optimistic on us getting RP PvP servers. It would be nice to have a definitive answer without Blizzard leaving us in the dark as they are currently doing.

I am also cautiously optimistic on getting RP PvP servers at launch.
If not at launch my family will start elsewhere and not roll again.
I have said it before RP-pvp has a little less ganking and the players are actually more mature.

C’mon Bliz. Got a lot of friends that want to play RP-PvP. Recently posted on a thread about PC specs for Classic as I’m throwing together old / decent working machines for a bunch of friends that are looking forward to playing. None of them post here, two of them don’t even have a PC at all, just their phone. When realm and name reservations come, I sure hope there’s an RP-PvP server there!

Lol. Honestly, I never did world pvp in my life, and basically spent my whole time trying to help my guild progress. I think I might have to go to the “dark side” and gank a little. Not corpse camp people 20 levels lower than me for hours, but just enough to incite the opposite faction and hope to trigger all out war.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know that there’s a discord (https://discord.gg/KTPgfZz) server that’s hoping to create an unofficial RP-PvP realm if Blizzard doesn’t decide to reverse their stance on RP-PvP servers. An official server would by far be better but an unofficial one would be better than nothing. You might want to consider editing in a discord link to the original post if possible (I haven’t used these forums since wrath so I’m not sure if there’s a rule against external links or anything like that). If you know of a bigger server with the same purpose then that one would probably be better to link but the discord that I linked to is the only one that I know of.

I’m mostly a lurker but this is the third discord I’ve seen. The community needs to roll as one if we wish to even have a lasting RP/PVP presence on a server.

A little over a week and we’ll know If we get a home or not.
They gave in to oceanic realms and language specific realms with blue posts though so I don’t think it’s looking too good for us personally.

I really don’t get what the community should do to get RP-PVP servers. They said if the community voiced their concerns they would reconsider, but 2’200+ post later, still nothing.
The worst part is that RP-PvE server will be a thing, will historically they always had lower pops that RP-PvP.
